Hi,

WOW. That is one of the worst beers ever produced anywhere in the world, I cannot fathom how you took a shine to it?

Sorry for being unhelpful, but damn, forex is horrible.

How is your state for liquor laws? Are you in an ABV or ABW state?

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

Seeing as WA has the highest per capita consumption of premium and craft beers in the country, it is a known and documented fact that Western Australians are more in tune with what a good beer should taste like.

Export laws and his home states import laws are things that should be taken into serious consideration before someone attempts to send beer to America. You can land yourself in a large amount of trouble, as you are playing with tax excise, which by nature is a federal dealing.

Cheers,
Nik

The US has plenty of it's own boutique/small breweries that make real beers. After all the Pale Ale Aussies drink gallons of is an American style.
Look for producers like Brooklyn Brewery (NY), Anchor Brewing (SF), Russian River Brewing Company.
There's far more to American beers than bud, miller, coors etc.

Discussion on whether XXXX Gold is a good beer is for another time.

+1 for looking into excise and taxation legislation. A mate of mine sent us a package loaded with some US boutique beers. Whilst our mate covered all postage, Customs hit us up for the duty. From memory about $20-30.

Makes it a bit pricey when you factor in purchase, postage and taxes. Maybe check out a bottlo that stocks some of the more obscure beers. They might be able to source it for you. Our mate did find Coopers Pale Ale in a bottle shop in his home state of Texas.

XXXX.....You want to Import XXXX?????

Americans wouldn't know good beer if it hit them in the face, just stick to the Euro's, or import a decent one, like X Dry, X Dry Platinum, Beez Neez, or any of Carlton's Heavy's. And there's a suave of boutique's

Everyone knows the only difference between XXXX, VB and Fosters is the horse.

Nick

PS....XXXX...Farken XXXX..still can't get over that.....and I'm a born and raised Brisbanite.

There are a few things I drank in Oz.  Agwa (amazing), vodka rasberry's, and xxxx gold...I had VB it tastes like moose piss...however state side...my beer of choice is Bud select, coors, miller high life, or rolling rock.  I really love a pale ale, dark beers are not my taste.

We have millions of small breweries but having that xxxx gold to give to my friend that went over there with me would bring back some good memories...you know how it is :help:

I'll look into some importers

Sorry mate, It was back in 2001.... so many beers since then. Next time I see one of my mates i'll see if they remember any of the brews.

There definitely weren't any miller, bud or busch and the like though.

Re: xxxx gold

If you want to import a case or 2 for you and your mate it is sure going to end up making it an expensive beer!

While living in London I had the pleasure of going to Croatia and I 'discovered' a beer called Tuborg. It was awesome - I wondered where it had been all my beer drinking life!

It took me a while to source it back in London but I managed to get my hands on some, and... I was dissappointed - heartbroken actually. It just wasn't the same as I remember. sad

Sometimes when you're on holiday things can taste better.

Hi,

Sending a case to you is $246.75AUD freight.

I'd keep the flavour in the memory box for next time you're here...

Cheers,
Nik
