Did this decision based on value include the $$$ u/we/us have spent on mods? lol Subaru for AWD, build (when left stock), comfort and driveability...pricewise i am still a bit sketchy about some of their cars' values. |

by befour on 20-09-07 01:09 PM I dont know why I got mine... I think I just enjoyed the way they drived, the prospect of owning a twin turbo that was not just some cheap crappy hard riding go cart full of cheap plastic like in silvias and such cars. As for Mitsubishi I wouldn't spit on them, we have so many come through dads shop with stupid problems that shouldnt happen, kind of like hyundai's, problems such as windows winding mechanisms falling to peices and the window falls down into the door... very common, or electrical issues is another we find, look at the TS Magna, those things were a complete bucket, the Lifters get soo noisy in the things it sounds like the engine is going to fall to peices anyway I should stop bitching about Mitsu. |

by regashi on 20-09-07 01:30 PM I bought my first subaru, an '88 L series Touring Wagon at a caryard my ex-girlfriend's father owned, after he gave me a 1988 Nissan Pulsar SSS, and the gearbox died after a day's use...(I wasn't even fanging it!!) He went on holidays, and I ran his caryard. I only ever sold one car |

by [J] on 20-09-07 01:35 PM For me, it started with my parents buying an Outback in 1999 after looking for a new car - they were oh so close to getting a Commodore station wagon until they test drove the Outback.

by B484 on 20-09-07 02:23 PM Fell in love with a 98 Subaru Impreza GX when I was looking for my second car (First was an XE falcon my dad bought for me. Which I would honestly take back any day!). Hammered the absolute crap out of the Impreza and it never missed a beat.

by MY02B4 on 20-09-07 02:53 PM Liked the B4 since it was announced to be released here in Aus and tried to convince my parents to buy one but they didn't. Fast forward a few years I wanted something that still had warranty, was sleeper, was quick and cheap insurance. B4 ticked all the boxes. |

by d_generate on 20-09-07 03:17 PM I drove a mates WRX a few times (I'd been driving a Landcruiser for 6 yrs) I'd had V8's & fast 4's but nothing like this, so 3 yrs ago I bought a damaged Impreza to do a conversion on but it was too good a car (10yo GX with 47k on the clock) so after fixing it I made a 6g profit, decided I'd do a Liberty instead after learning i bit more about Subi's (the car I have now which is my keeper) & since then I've bought & sold a few & have 3 more in my driveway waiting to be finished, it can be quite profitable.

by XXB4XX on 20-09-07 03:51 PM I was actually buying a VX-SS commodore, I had my heart set on it, I seen a B4 as a bit of a joke and enjoyed the test-drive..

by befour on 20-09-07 03:55 PM Hmmm I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if I had got a V8 which I had wanted since I could talk....... would have saved a lot of money and had a lot of power |

yeap... I still make V8 sounds in my sleep.. So much better than ricer, boxer 4 cylinder, hair-dryer, gay , garbage, with small seats, no leg room, easily destructible, once again GAY!, expensive parts, non RWD, JAP CRAP!! |

by befour on 20-09-07 04:45 PM I love the Boxer engine even though I have dramas.... I like subaru's probably always will... but everytime an SS drives past that has a decent exhaust system on it OMG...not much can compare, its ear pornography. Plus I love the fact that there is mountain moving torque available from idle, I cant say the same for the B4...its hopeless for torque.. all that said I still love my B4 |

So if that's how you feel why do you still have it?:Dntknw: And seem to be an enthusiast. Anyway i bought my B4 cos i wanted something quick, but to most people on the road looks slow. Was looking at a rex but saw the B4 from the outside and then the inside and went for that instead. Plus it sounds better to say you have twin turbos then just one. The sensation is awsome in my opinion, quick and then much quicker when most cars are finished. :bye: Oh yeah and of course there is the handling and AWD and you can not beat the sound. And as many have said they are excellent value for money for the car you get. |
