My work laptop is a mac, Great piece of machinery, Windows has got one hell of a long way to go to catch up!,

although I buid my own computers, Id never bother paying 3g's for a Mac.

(see I gave a positive and a negative! smile )

LOL you build your own and here I was thinkng you were a hard ass. LOL nahh just joking I cant talk I built my own comp as well. its a 3.2ghz AMD, 160gig hard drive ...... I can go on but cant be bothered. I also cant see the pint in buying comps from shops when its pretty easy to learn hoow to build one for 1/2 or a 1/3 of the price.

i have a pentium 3 which takes up to 3 hours to rip and burn a DVD. as my main computer. i've considered a mac for my next one, and will prolly go the way of mac mini as i've already got an okay keyboard, mouse, monitor etc...

A hardass? geez thats a little harsh? but I have been going Gym lately so thanks! HAHAHAHA!!!

To ease my boredom at work the other day I priced up the top spec, all options included Mac Pro.



Came to...... $35,000.  But it did have 32Gb of ram. w00t.



Not a Mac book man myself - a little too fisher pricey for my liking, Thinkpad FTW!

Same goes here positive and negative.  Give me a Mac Pro and MacOS any day of the week! Vista FTMFL!

Sorry Mac folks but Macs aren't really that affordable.
For $1600 I could either have the most basic of basic iMacs, or I could build myself a pc with twice the power that's tailored to exactly what I want.

Ok, fair enough most people aren't willing to build their own pc, but I don't even have that option with a mac do I? I just buy what ever Apple decide I need...

Russie is very expensive, I believe Moscow is the most expensive city in the world. I would shudder at what the price of a Mac would be there.

Sorry, but I have no idea what Russia has to do with my comment.

Did anyone check the MacBook Air launch? What a stupid piece of equipment.

WTF @ New macbook?

I don't really think tinyness should ever compromise usability in a laptop. Plainly apple think their user-base loves funkyness enough to ignore the fact that you're stuck with poor connectivity :stinker:

What's not to get? MacBook Air is a fashion accessory.

MacBook Pro is an incredible piece of kit, but for the same dollars in a PC you will get a faster machine with more capability.

That's not really an argument is it?

its not macbook replacement, its just a special model.

i now have:

1x 13.3 black macbook 2.0ghz C2D
3x 17inch 1.67 titanium g4 powerbooks
1x 15inch 1.67 titanium g4 powerbook

and a c2d desktop that i built.

ps if anyone is interested in a powerbook ask me as i'm selling these.

I agree with you, the Air is not a desktop replacement by any stretch, and many people who live a busy lifestyle will see this as a good option. Starting at 1799USD it is definitely an expensive option.

I mainly don't like apple because of iPods, and have already mentioned that a MacBook Pro is an incredible piece of kit.

Like I said, this isn't really an argument, is it?

How much for the powerbooks Alex?

Blak, I've only known mac, grew up with them smile
I remember back in the day when 250kb floppy discs were the memory!

And Blak couldn't be truer about the macbook air... It's not a desktop replacement, hence a mate is getting one for traveling.
