Sorry but cut springs.......:nono:

Get some king spring lows and youll be better off in the handling department.

as for wheels, a set of oem late model 17" Liberty of Rex rims really go well under the gen1's. youll have no issue with fitment of these either.

If you go with after market rims.
Make sure they are, 5x100pcd and +50 offset.

215/45/17's are about as wide as you'll get on a gen1 i believe.

Also look into Kmac springs. What ever ride hight and spring rate you like for $330 front and rear.
Chrome rims will also result in me waging a Jihad against you.

ok soop thanks for the info ill have too look into the springs as mine are fooked.
i was hoping for 18's due to the sporty nature of the car buy i guess ill save some cash on tyres;).
and whats wrong with abit of chrome on a car? you just need a bright colour to offset the chrome and it looks good.

No chrome looks sh!t in every light.

17's are big as you can legally go. 18's will cause hassles with scrubbing as well.

thanks, looks like 17's are gonna be the way to go then should i have problems getting the car nice and low on 17's and do you think new shocks and springs would help it from bottoming out because its really bad at the moment and i dont want it to get rougher with the smaller tyres.

New shocks and springs well most certainly help.
Just don't lower it too much, 25mm lower than standard should be heaps.

If you go with the correct offset you should have no worries lowering it, provided you don't go too low.

use gen1s came stock with 14" rims, the rs 15"
where as where as your gen3 has 16" and the b4 has 17" ? so you can get 18"19"

something like that i think its 2inches bigger that you can go

i have seen 20's on a gen 1 so anything is possible,  i personally have 18s with 215/35 18 rubber. mine is slammed and the tyres never hit the body.

Yeah, they will fit. But are illegal.
Also, how wide are your tyres?

correct, in vic other states can vary but most likley not.

2inch larger than the sticker on the inside of the drivers door some cars rear right door.

even if the car had larger standard wheels when u bought it etc.....

but most cops tend to only hasle you for things like that when u r being a twat....way to loud exhaust cutting lapies etc. u know the "hoon factor"

my volvo got away with it for couple of years with 18inch shoes on it standard 14's

i have 225/45/R17 on my Gen 1 GX. the grip is phenominal, like a cat on carpet. huge drain of power on the ej22 though...
