by Ciaran on 18-12-11 07:57 PM Hey guys. Just picked up my MY06 Liberty 3.0R Spec.B a couple of days ago. This is my first car, and having stepped down from driving my parents merc around I'm noticing a few things.... I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if these were normal for a Subaru liberty of this year or if i need to get some things looked at.

Quoted for wtf factor. No idea about reverse revs, but the RPM at idle sounds normal to me, you may just be reading the dial wrong - the first line after 0 is 500rpm I think. |

by Ciaran on 18-12-11 08:33 PM Yeh it's really odd, but its not making any noises or anything. It gets hotter the harder I drive it, and when i drive it normally its pretty much at a normal level. But I bought the car because I was under the impression that they were tough and "embraced" the harder driving style.... Just clarifying, I'm not flogging it to death, I know how to take care of cars. |

I dont see any issues! I think your being a tad pedantic. Heat from the wheels? Your not driving with the handbrake on are you? Brakes do a hot job on all cars. The engine has a normal operating temperature and if you dont have a/c or climate control on, and the settings for the vents are set to open inside the car, then yes you will get heat coming through the vents in all cars. If you have heat coming through your inside car vents then adjust them so they block the air flow into the cabin.
I dont really see the issue with the reverse thing either. Do you mean the revs bounce around when you are in reverse? yep! Did you expect the brakes to be colder the harder you drove it? Can you get them this hot >>> |

by Ciaran on 19-12-11 02:29 PM Yeh, I think now that I'm definitely being pedantic, I'm a really paranoid person anyway. But thanks for the help guys, hearing it from other people boosts my confidence a fair bit.
