What would u do?

So what would u do?


I have 1) Damaged liberty, quoted $4000 to fix

but 2) I was planning on selling it for $4500

I want to buy an XR6, 3) valued up to 7500

4) technicaly my car is worth about $500 buck

5) the lib is insured for $3000

Question 1) Do I sell car private and try to get as much money as I can for it?

question 2) Should I clame insureance and only get $3000 but make more by striping the car?

Question 3) should I keep the car and leave it damaged and let it die slowly? when I really want a newer car....?

poor baz. my cuz was in the same situation. he took the insurance (same lib as yours, the idiot was going to buy my old exhaust) and is now looking at another car

Yep, agree with the other blokes - Claim it, keep the wreck, part it out and save your pennies for a better/newer car that isn't going to give you grief.

I also agree with Alex - don't worry about an XR6, especially if you've only go $7500 to spend on it!

$4k must be a fair amount of dmg.  I'd claim and save as well, not necessarily for an XR6 smile , unless its the Typhoon.  :blush2:

Either way, Id go the insurance route and start saving.. most likely going to be the route which will return most your money.

money and wreak, my car is insured for 12k, if i keep the wreak i get 8k, plus car. which i think is a good deal.

If you can get 4k for bits off the car I guess it is, but I doubt that would happen...

unless i wrapped it around somthing i'd repair it out of my own pocket. in my own time. use the 8k to buy another car. if it was damaged to the point that it couldnt be repaired i'd just take the 12k.

I agree. Especially with time and money trying to sell the wreck off, your car ain't all that and a bag of chips... you won't sell many parts off, especially to recoup $4K's worth!

I'd take the money and let them deal with the wreck. If you're clever, you could chase after it at the auctions...

try sell the scoop for $3999 then sell the car for $1 smile

Go to Australian fleet car sales, they will give you a few grand trade in, then buy your XR6 from them
