As the title says, what do you do to earn a dollar so that you can blow it all on your car? big_smile

Im an industrial electrician. Have been working for Holden for 13 years now (started apprenticeship at 16) Currently the electrician looking after the V6 assembly line, making sure it keeps running and fixing breakdowns asap. Also do machine installations, upgrades and comissioning.

Application developer for a mortgage broker. That's when all the support people aren't sick and I'm doing support to cover them :butcher:

Civil Designer for an Engineering Firm in Brisbane.

Design and Draft all aspects of Proposed Housing Estates ie: Roads, Drainage, Sewer, Water, Earthworks.

Been in the industry for only 4 years.

Electrical (Power Systems) Engineer, only a baby Graduate tho.  Been in the workforce for a bit year now.

I design lightning and surge protection.  Beauty of the job is most of our equipment goes OS; mainly to SE Asia, Africa, Middle East etc.  All the hot and humid places.  So I do a fair few of OS trips to do site surveys, installation supervision etc.

Let me know if anyone has dramas with the fire in the sky!

Oh and don't believe half the crap you read on the back of surge protection from generic electronic retailers (you know the ones).  Most of it is BS.

I sell the the parts that go onto the Porsches that most of the world can't afford. (Keep rich people happy:grin: ).

A 911 makes a B4 feel like a Barina at full noise:stink:

But there is still something special about the Subie, don't know what it is yet though.

Another student here, Aerospace engineering going into 3rd year. Currently working at an engineering company doing FMEA (don't ask, the engineers will know the pain) over summer, and lurking the forums at the same time smile.

Yeah it's amazing how low the crank is, extra 2 cylinders make them heaps smoother, but the sound of the new engines sucks in comparison to the subies.
