Weather shield/Moonsoon Fitting.

  Top of Page

Gday.
I got some weather shield's from IM the other day.
Just wondering, how exactly they are fitted.

Its obvious that double sided tape is needed.
But whats the go with the clips, where exactly do the go?

Mine should be here in a few weeks big_smile

Mine has the marks left from the previous clips. They clip over/under the black moulding above your windows. (I think)

Are you talking about the slim line, real dark tinted shields, I had mine fitted pre-purchase, the clips screw on underneath the rubber lining, I was looking at how they were mounted....pretty tricky. Subaru will do it for free at your next service, or you can do it if you're confident. Will try to get some pics up to help you.

I have done them before on falcons and what not but I guess the principle is the same, they are a pain in the ass to do, but not massively tricky....... I know I kind of contradicted myself but you will understand when you do them, just line them up first and then you should see where the clips go. :umnik:

i think i have the instructions here somewhere i will have a look in the garage tomorrow. they are not that hard to put on.

basically
1.remove seal from around the f/b window not all the way just enough to get to the screws holding the metal trim on.

2.then hold the monsoons up to where they would be mounted, and line up the brackets on the monsoons to the nearest screws on the metal trim(mark them)

3.now take those screws out and push the metal clips(which come with the monsoons) into the trim put the screws back through the clip into the trim.

4. now hold up the monsoons to where they will be mounted and push the little plastic plugs into the monsoon through the clip holes.(once done it should be sitting there.

5. now line it up to the body of the car and slowly moving along the top edge remove the backing of the double sided tap and firmly hold against the car.

hope it helps i try and find you the proper instructions tomorrow.

cheers

$40 will also get you a bottle of vodka/Jagermeister/etc or a slab of beer*. A short-shifter will do dick-all on your cars except give you something else to put in your sig. You could also spend your money better by inserting the $40 up your own arse. You'd certainly get more out of it that way.

Ditto.

I pulled the rubber moulding back and saw where they screw into.

Thanks for the info Steve. big_smile
