From what I've heard this is exactly what happens most of the time someone has an OEM flywheel lightened by way of removing metal...

Mind you, it could possibly happen to a faulty OEM unit as well.

This will happen when you consistently dump the clutch at high revs with a lightened flywheel:clapping:

Seen it happen to a rotor, funny to watch but sooooo dangerous:ohmy:

Yep, i've heard about this sort of thing on skylines. Happened at the lights to a friend of a friend.

story i heard that accompanied pictures when sent to me was 8500rpm clutch dump.

Damn, makes me want to go out right now and by a billet flywheel. least it would be a bit stronger LOL :S Ive seen drag video's of this happening.. leaves a mess. Cut through the chassis rails in one case.

i just stole them big_smile

I've seen this happen before, although it was a t5 behind a 304 in a commodore. scared the f*ck out of me and i was 15ft way. Blew the windscreen out of the car and exposed valves. it was a massive explosion. Really bad thing was, the fly wheel was an OEM fly wheel, unmodified.
