ok sorry, its the stock alarm system, and i think all i turned of was the "screamer"

is there a minimum voltage that the car needs before it will start? i read in the manual about it going into sleep mode with less than 10v

sounds stupid but out of the 5 cars ive had, this is the first time ive had a flat battery

If the engine light is on, the car should be able to start. Do you hear the fuel pump kick in? Battery may not have enough juice to crank it.

In the case of mine when the alarm is disarmed the rest of the lights on the dash illuminate and the fuel pump engages.
