upgrade module - yes/no

  Top of Page

I dropped my car off today at subaru to get my keypad immobiliser reprogrammed due to my battery running flat.
I picked it up 3hrs later and was told they couldn't do nothing untill i upgrade my module, which will cost me about $300.
I read about this module on an MRT forum and thought i might get it but i don't believe i need to upgrade just to reprogramme.
Has anyone else had their keypad reprogrammed and did u need to upgrade the module?

Best thing i ever did was rip out the Brandt. Under the direction of a Melbourne Subaru dealer it took about 2 hours all up. I would recommend anyone to do the same. It doesn't answer your question but it does pose another solution to your problem.

Upgrading the module is the best you could have done and keep the brant!

This module should allow you to remove the batery as often as you like without towing your car to Subaru for the master code.

The problem with the brant system is that these theives know were they have been wired up, but you can change the wiring points and the car should be sweet and secure!
