by BlackLazarus on 31-08-10 09:02 PM maybe start with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 as benchmark, then try comparing other tyres and to confuse you more, check this out: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearc … 2&y=11

by weezer on 31-08-10 11:11 PM I had Firestone Wide Oval in 16"... they were fantastic. Highly recommended. And they're about $190ea. At the moment I have Pirelli somethings on the rear - P7000? - and Blue Streak Stiletto's on the front. They're just a Goodyear-made generic brand and seem to be ok for me.

by vik on 04-09-10 08:15 PM Mate, I swear by the Good Year Eagle F1 GS-D3, I have had them on the GT since 07, gone through snow, ice, flooded roads, fire trails, sealed roads without a worry, they wear well, enjoyable on long trips. When I went for new tyres in 07, I was wanting Michelin or Pirelli as I had good times with these brands on my other cars, Shu the manager(been going there for a decade) laughed and said mate, for awd sport cars only the Eagle F1 GS-D3's mate, made for it. No issues in the wet on high boost, pass every1 around corners, a little noisy on dry sealed road due to the design, they look sexy too, had ppl stop and ask me about the tyres. Paid around $300 per tyre fitted and balanced. http://www.goodyearautocare.com.au/Tyre … m=nPerPage |

by B4Cruiser on 05-09-10 08:55 AM I second Vik's comments. I had the prev gen F1s which were awesome in wet and dry. Unfortunately bit pricy for me nowadays. Where'd ya get em for $300 Vik? Nearly all places i asked wanted $340min. |

by Andy_C on 05-09-10 10:14 AM Mate, tyres are the only thing between you and the road. Good budget indeed. A third on the Eagle F1's. Just pricey. As i cannot afford $1300 for all 4, i went with the Yokohama A Drive R1's. Sensational tyre especially when new. Grippy wet and dry. If you call around, you should be able to get them for around $205-$210 a corner. Generally they want $250 for them. |

I got them on that 6 month interest free deal alot off places offer, but it was in 07 so like most things, prices go up every year. Lookin at Bobby Jane's cat that was in yesterdays herald sun, good deals on the Firestone wide oval's that Weezer was talking about, and Falkan Ze912's which are a good tyre to for under $250 fitted. Good review site here, http://www.productreview.com.au/categor … at_id=1072 |

by Maxtron on 05-09-10 09:39 PM I had bridgestone adrenalin re001 it was AWESOME, grip so much on wet and dry but a bit noisy cost $220 each (soft compound which mean that it doesn't take long to warm up yet it wear out quicker)

by vik on 07-09-10 01:21 PM Eagle F1 GS-D3's, they are $260 fitted for 17's at present. Sadly, I went today to fix a puncher, the tyre is a write off and I have 1 slight buckled front rim, decided to get 4 new tyres and mag deal. There's only limited sets in Melbourne off Eagle F1's at present, to get a good deal I had to buy there and then, so ordered Dunlop SP Sport Maxx for $260, usually towards $300 fitted, was told the SP Sport Maxx are not to far from the Good Years but better in the wet?? and very good for awd cars. |
