by mattbg5 on 07-08-09 11:30 AM Hey guys have a bit off stuff on the way for the tt and will need to be tuned!!! I have had a look into this and so far i know that a verso tune cant be done and that a full replacement isnt realy an option, so where do i go from here, piggyback computer?? Ecutek, if it can be done? Help would be much appreciated!!! |

by XoN on 08-08-09 04:59 PM The gen2 ECU is not flashable, so a retune like the ecutek will not be possible. Your only options are a piggyback or full standalone system. |

by Adrian on 08-08-09 07:57 PM i would advise against unichip in a TT, it suits but others have had poor results. If you are serious install an Autronic or Motec. |

by XoN on 08-08-09 09:16 PM Are you sure about that Adrian? Last I heard the chip in the ECU was not writable. |

by BJ BG5A-TT on 09-08-09 11:14 AM I also thought that all pre 1999 subaru ecu's were not writable. I also have some gear coming for my gen 2 TT and stand alone management was the only option I thought. |

by Adrian on 09-08-09 09:51 PM the bg5 ecu shares the same chip as early 90s nissan's which are commonly flashable - just that there is not much software around for the bg5 nor are there tuners who know how to tune with such software. I went as far as having my maps read off the ecu, just never investigated adapting any software to read and rewrite it. |

by XoN on 10-08-09 08:37 AM Ah, so it's technically possible but more difficult than it's worth by the sound of it? |

by mattbg5 on 10-08-09 07:13 PM Yeah the go is for a piggybak system, there quite a few out there so it makes my choice a bit harder, they range from 400-1400. Any suggestions on an aftermarket brand thats been used in the gen 2 before??? |
