Tinted Tail Lights And Garnish.

  Top of Page

Hi there Guys, Can anyone tell me about or does anyone have Tinted tail lights on there car. I saw a white B4 on carsguide with them on and thought they would look good on my black B4. Any info would be good.

For starters, they are illegal in Vic at least, don't know about any other states. Yes they look good especially on dark cars, but the cops hate them down here and they could not get past a road worthy here.

Yeah, I can understand the legalities of it. The ones on carspoint  are in WA made by JDM , they look to be tinted only in the right places not over the actual light section.
They definitly look good and legal. I would put up a photo of it but I am not to sure how to accomplish that task. Haa!

Sure they look good but i'd rather people see my brakelight's :Pilot: instead of hitting my broken tinted tailights

I have factory tail lights on a Gen 2 that i gave a 1 one coat mist to darken, can still see the subaru logo and all lights through it, though when parked next to another lib can immediately see the diference, i used VHT night shades from super cheap.

The tint is illegal.

Now I've covered my arse, I've done it on both my cars. My Mitsubishi Galant, and now my Liberty.  Never been hassled for it and its been in to get roadworthy certificates a few times and it's never been mentioned.  I guess it just depends on how stupidly dark you make it.

Heres a pic of mine.

You will also want to check with your insurance company.
When I worked for racv - they refused a claim on a bmw 318is as it had tinted tail lamps.

Just some thing to think about .....

cheers

I don't polish the lights or garnish. I use the good 'ol Armour all on them. Try that and see if that brings it up.

I had it done on a previous car, polished too to a nice shine.

Use Meguiars all metal polish. Its a super fine cutter. I use it on scratches on paintwork too.
