The unfortunate end of my liberty

  Top of Page

All i can say is total wroteoff. Came home one night from cruising the city to find my liberty in the middle of the road smashed up good now i am waiting for insurance payout. Its always hard to replace such a good car. im looking to  do another engine conversion as the engine is good it was a rear ender so most of the parts i need will be good.
Anyone know where i can look to buy a liberty between 94-98 non turbo for under 6k please let me know thanks.

Mate sorry to hear, looked like a nice car. You could try the auctions, might be a stolen and recovered with only front damage or something. Should be some cheap gx's around though

Not hard at all.

All it takes is a furken good hit to get it onto the middle of the road.

Sorry to hear that your car has ended up like this. I've had similar things happen to two of my cars. Glad to hear that you or your loved ones weren't hurt.

I hope lots of good comes out of it for you.

Cheers

I sympathise mate, I had my previous car caught in a riot over here in WA, was a shocking result.

Not good.

Always more annoying when it's plainly not your fault.

Hoping for a speedy insurance resolution for you mate.

And, the volture in me is wondering, pics?

Cheers,
Nik

that must hurt mate, it almost makes u want to cry.
i bought my 1995 liberty only a few months ago its in excellent condition.
the price tag was only 6.5k.

i found a company called consign-A-car and the did wonders for me.
their website is: www.consign-a-car.com.au

i asked them if they had any subaru liberty's and the age that i wanted and the prce range and they came back with this beast.

good luck in your search for a new liberty.

Fremantle, four years ago. Things got intense very quickly at the Zanzibar. Street brawl really doesn't cover the severity of the situation. Possibly the most violent thing I've ever been a part of. Nasty stuff.

I live in woopwoop now though, must quieter out here.

Hope you get everything resolved swiftly mate. Such a pain in the ass having your pride and joy incapacitated.

Cheers,

It has taken some time to find the right one but the time has come for me to get back up into a lib. I bought a wag's again still have my running gear from previous one just finished converting over the engine the interior and wiring it all up (approx 46 hours work) only a few things needed to be done from here. 1 tailgate needed cat  back exhaust (or weld brackets in the right places) and paint.

Car runs we ran through diagnostics nothing seems to come up in the fault codes done a service as engine has been sitting since accident and need to paint (which will take some time) but should be done in the not too distant future.

that's the cover story...
What REALLY happened was the town folk teamed together and torched his car in a ritualistic cult like manner chanting "Get the hoon out of town, get the hoon out of town"

Dale, also good to hear you kept with it and have stayed with the libs, would like to see some photos!

Wow didn't realize this was so old... still Nik's story holds true, it was a cult thing.lol

are u looking to take the engine out of the wrecked car or just some uninsured aftermarket parts? if you want the engine, will the insurance company let u do this or do u have to buy the wreck back off em after its confirmed a write-off?

<-- just a lil confused

Bought the wreck off them recently bought a chassis and dumped the engine and driveline in the chassis just needs to be painted with tyres (not rims) and a tailgate other than that its basically finished.

Do Insurance companies usually give a good price for return of wrecks compared to the payout?

I am fortunate to not have had to experience this yet but am interested.

Bought it back for $850 with a 2 litre tt engine suspension was all fine the tt bonnet and the rx interior so i thought it was very cheap.
