TG Best Driving Road

  Top of Page

Top Gear's Driving Road.

I know most of us have probably seen this episode whether it be on youtube or from a mate who downloads them early (or maybe yourself). Anyway when I watched it I saw the final road that they were on and had to change my pants. (almost). I did some looking around and found these photos of the road.
It is called the Stelvio pass or as the Italians call it Passo dello Stelvio.

ENJOY

Why do the roads all look like V's? Wont it be boring ripping around the same type of bends one after another?

You would just need the right car to do it in.

Some clown took his Lambo to that road after Top Gear gave it the thumbs up, and decided to park halfway through a stone wall.

Not for the feint hearted, obviously! I did quite enjoy that episode though :Diablo:

a cruise through the alps sounds awesome. lets do it.

That road is insane. Might have to watch some downhill drifters see how they can drive that mountain.

Would be absolutely awesome - if...

you could get rid of this

http://www.robinsonscaravans.co.uk/images/lunarimages/chateauexterior.jpg

and this

Seriously, traffic backed up by a learner driver - you'd have thought that the instructor would tell him to pull over and let the queue of cars/bikes/buses etc go past but nope, they continued on their merry 40km/h way.... f**ckers...

anyway, yep, awesome road to drive if it was just you and your car and no-one else. But there are some great roads just off the GOR - found some myself near the 12 Apostles - just after dawn, no-one about - fast and flowing - nice...:yes2:

Oh, and I used to love the road up and around Mt Cootha in Brisbane - fun for a bit of a night blast!

Drifters and racers on the Galston Gorge are prity interesting to watch. Those corners are ridiculously tight, if you are in the inside lane, even at full lock it is hard to make the hairpin.

If you have never heard of it, take a look in your street directory and you will see the shape of the road.

Haha SNO08, judging from that vid the resulting damage was inevitable.

Can someone chop a red Gen2 wagon into those pics?
For future refference.
