Subi noobie!

  Top of Page

Hey everyone.

New member here, and I'll admit from the outset that I am a complete and utter newbie when it comes to the Liberty.  I've driven V8's for the last 8 or so years. I'm currently driving a VX Clubsport but put a deposit down on a manual '01 MY02 Liberty RX earlier today and hope to pick it up next weekend.

The desire to "grow up" and get a more "sensible" car but not completely abandon my love of all things auto led me to the liberty.

I've got a pretty steep learning curve ahead of me and can see that I'll be drawing on the resources of this forum quite a bit.  You've actually already helped me out quite a lot as I did a lot of my research on the car here on this forum.  It seems really well structured and it was quite easy to find the info I was looking for, so congrats to the admin of the site.

Looking forward to picking all of your brains in the coming months!

Kelly.

Well seen as I'm supposed to be being sensible then I should say no plans, but I'm sure time will change that!  I will do the zorst fairly quickly though.  Can't wait to unleash the boxer rumble.

wouldn't be in too much hurry to "Unleash the boxer burble".
It doesn't exist on the NA motors.
You'll need to purchase some Unequal length extractors.

Jump on ebay and search "Liberty extractors"

Welcome to OzLiberty Kelly.

With the headers and exhaust you can definitely "unleash" that boxer rumble on your NA.

The liberty is a great choice, even if you go for a turbo model later, they have that more grown up tag with them compared to driving a wrx.

Thanks for the welcome.
You're spot on about the more "grown up" tag, it's precisely why I chose the liberty over the rex.  I do like the rexies, but they're common as muck, and after driving various models of commodores for the last however long I was after something a bit more unique.
Happy to hear that i CAN get that boxer burble.  Whooppeeeee! :clapping: After Soop's post I thought he meant I couldn't get it all, but now I see that he was saying I would have to get extractors aswell. Der me

That sounds great Soop!

Do you have the extractors off ebay by any chance?  I was actually just about to PM you and ask if you knew the seller or anyone who has purchased those extractors.
