SUBARU LEONE L GLTA Turbo????

Has anyone seen one of these before?
SUBARU LEONE L GLTA Turbo

I had a RX turbo but have never seen this model before. I am thinking it maybe a import due to the interior and being auto, only thought the xt came auto+turbo. Just different, looks clean and original. Love the rims and colour scheme...

No, not an import.

Not an RX either.

There was a factory available GLTA (unofficial name AFAIK, standing for GL (factory model spec) Turbo Automatic.

I would love one of these. Lift kit, wind up the boost a bit, and carve up some sand dunes!

Watch out for rust. Its rather bad in these L's. Windshield and rear window are primary suspects. Also mudguards, and sometimes rear wheel arches too.

Although its a GL, it has the turbo spec interior, not the real GL interior. Seats are generously bolstered. Has other turbo trim pieces including rear spoiler.

Watch out also for the motor. The EA82 SOHC motor is a bit of a fussy thing already. With a turbo, they're worse. Watch for noisy lifters, leaky oil stains, headgasket issues, and the freaking notorious dead heater core.

AFAIK, there was never a two-tone option, so suspect repairs.

'hits the nail on the head'

Beautiful car. ea82t sucks balls. Not overly quick either.

Interesting vehicle.
If the EA82t is such a pain, is it easy enough to convert it to a Ej20t?
Or would that detract from the vehicle?

On a side note, that bull bar looks like it would double the weight of the car again.

yes, alot of people do EJ turbo conversions to these, whether its 20g's or 25t.

To put it into context, my ej22 converted L-series wagon beats my mates ea82t wagon with mild mods on the ea82t. (but then again, my ej22 wagon keeps up with most 6cylinder cars)

The carbied ea82 is a tough little motor though, mine had 340k on it when it was removed and is in another car now, and this was two years ago.

And the bullbars dont weigh that much, hardly any difference when ya put one on.

How about this rare one coming up at Fowles auctions, now that would make a great offroader.

Wow, that looks pretty cool.
Kinda reminds me of a Mitsubishi Starion.

Prolly find the previous owner will be fighting you for it as it's a really easy repair & he/she's been paid out bit I think it would be well worth the fight because if it's rarity, I've only seen one before & it was a n/a dunger.

Ahhh. The two door coupe. Nice. But lack of parts would certainly turn me off of it. Perhaps you could source parts from the states...

That was for sale a few years ago now, before it was damaged! They were wanting quite a bit for it...

In all honesty you could probably fit a set of 80-84 Bluebird tail lights & not notice the difference, the rest can be fixed easy enough by a good panel beater, I'd love it.
