Ugliest car Subaru has ever made IMHO. Probably one of the biggest fallings out SOJ and SOA have ever had?

I've seen it before. I'd have to agree it IS ugly. I think i's built in the US so I'm hoping that it NEVER sees Australian shores.

Re: Subaru Baja

I think they basically went how can we turn this outback into a ute... lets chop out the boot!!! would have been better if the brumby could have reborn with an Impreza front end and the 2.5 turbo... you know, for towing stuff.

Re: Subaru Baja

I think about  it whenever someone is tailgating me! Sure that our local panel guys could make it look better, and it wouldn't be yellow either. A new brumby would do it for me, and I don't think I'm the only one.

Here's a couple more I found on ebaymotors;

The black on is a 2005 Turbo. I think they'd both look better if they were dropped into the weeds a couple of inches.

Re: Subaru Baja

i dont think there too bad at all, i mean great reliability, lots of torqe, boxer burble ( if it lives up to the subaru name that is). unfortunately it has been cured with the ugly arse gen 3 lib front, the rear of its fine and sides are basically an out back. perhaps a gen 2 baja front and gen 3 lib side would look nice? anyone got time to photoshop it....just interested

Re: Subaru Baja

I don't mind it at all. Nice if it was a 2 door with longer ute tray. What are you going to cart in that tiny ute back..popcorn?

And a big yes, it needs to be low.

They are a trick bit of gear, Twin Turb 2.5l but only for the southern california market, I tried to bring one in to oz ,but no go for a one off , after rhd conversion it would have to be crash tested, even though it is a prodction model and the conversion is a bolt in swap over situation. ADR's SUCK!!!!!:triniti:But Hell I still want one BADDD!!

Re: Subaru Baja

not a fan of the baja! i did discover them myself a few weeks ago! they only made them for a 3-4 years and was a flop!
they hoped to sell 24,000 per year - only managed 30,000 units the whole period they were available! (hooray for wiki)

there are some more pics here too!
