Saw a thread on an install one of these kits on a gen3 adm b4 recently and they had to use a smaller intercooler and still had to extensively cut the bumper and front crash bar. (Illegal i believe)will this have to be done to get one to my fit gen2 jdm tt?

heres a link to the thread http://www.subyclub.com/index.php?showt … amp;st=20.

The installers had a few probs which if rectumfied I think would result in alot more sales (myself for 1). NOT taking a shot at all, I'm actually very interested in these kits as they're great value, they just need a little improvement.
Heres what they had to say,

"There is no chance at all that the driving lights could be kept."

"Overlow bottle in place of stock air box"

"i installed this exact kit (except with the supplied cooler) on sunday, me and a mate spent 10 hours putting it in, i am going to get rid of the cooler that came with the kit and get a shorter one like yours cause i cant even run a crash bar the way it is now."

As I said I'm not tryin to take a shot, just as a prospective buyer thought some this feedback might help create an even better product.
Cheers, Josh

I've recently installed this kit (bought piping only). No chance of foggies being kept from what i can see on mine.  Altho at least the fog covers can go back on. I've still managed to use the stock overflow after some fiddling; altho it is a tight fit.  Also used a smaller core (180x550x68) to hopefully avoid cutting the bar.  However based on the piping kit, it would be unavoidable; unless you can source an even smaller core, maybe 120(h, gluck if you can.  Elected to take bar off for iterim to see what can be done.  Altho Hawks123 did a good job on minimising the amount that needs to be cut to the crash bar.  Also needs an aftermarket bov (or work done to use stock bov). Overall, if you have the know how to install it, its a great cheaper option for a FMIC.

Note, this is just my experience with this kit.  Like previous, not taking aim.

Seen these kits on trademe.co.nz also and on there it says "bolt straight in". Like above comments I dont want to sound negative towards these kits but to me hacking up your crash bar is'nt a "bolt straight in" job. I agree that these kits are great value & if not for this issue I would buy one straight away, but from what I've read I am not that willing to start cutting up my car to get it in. Sorry scarles guys but not quite convinced yet!
