Got shown this article this morning by one of the boys in the office. Just when the Mighty GTHO's are starting to come back down in price too. 2 in the last week have not met their reserve values one being $650,000 the other being $375,000. Finally starting to come back down in price.

Yeah, i read about that yesterday...if i had a $600k car, i'd keep it somewhere a little more safe than behind a fence where "unknown offenders" can force the lock that easy...

Unlucky though...its a pretty distinctive car, I dont think they'll get away with it...

Re: Stolen GTHO Phase 3

nah I dont think that they could, the car stands out so if they tried to sell it they will go down. and seen as though the only real valuable thing about the car is the chassis number its not really worth their while stripping down and selling the parts off unless they have a wrecked GTHO somewhere that they can steal the chassis number off and graft to that car.... I would be suprised if they did get away with it.
and yeah a car of that value you would really want to keep somewhere more secure

This is obviosly high end professional job stolen to order. So the car would probably already be in the east or nicely tucked away in a shipping container heading to a pre-arranged buyer in the US.

Yeah in order to move all those cars as well, you wouldn't think it'd be some small time crim. Very professional job, $600k...fark.

The Huuuldon would probably be the last car they'd steal from that bunch. At least the Odyssey isn't completely useless. Should have used holden to ram the roller door instead smile

Yeah I reckon. How can u move so many cars in the middle of the night without anyone seeing anything, esp when you have Rolls Royces parked in the side street and this is in collingwood!

Damn that sucks, i bet it ends up with the sultan of Brunei (hear me out on this one tongue) he has something like 3000 to 5000 cars in his collection, including five mclaren F1's. [COLOR=White]He owns 362 bentleys apparently, So the falcon may be a little lower end for him lol. I know all this cause an uncle of a mate of mine tried to sue the sultan over some Quran.

Shame to see a such an awesome car stolen though.

/end useless information post.

Re: Stolen GTHO Phase 3

the parts for these things are still worth their weight in gold. dad and i are doing up an XW ute to be a GT mockup.
the dash along, with the gauges, tacho and speedo is worth $1800. the steering wheel, if in good nick, will fetch around $1500. interior, say about $2500-3000 depending on condition. then you have motor, wheels, fuel tank.

they could part the car out for $10,000, but i dont think thats what they would be doing, seriously, all that work for ten grand?
