STI Lib in Motor Magazine

This months Motor mag has two pages on the new STI Liberty. I've got a photo of the article, plus some others of the STI Lib's I took recently @ Docklands.

for 70k on the road i dont think there is a car that would come close to the lib though. it has class, power, reliability, safety, looks, resale value.

I am more than happy with mine and it's well worth the $$ I paid but for those who think you can just bolt some mods on to a Spec B go do your sums and then make an informed comment or wait three years and I will sell you mine! Twin scroll TD04 loving !

My 03 GT was the first batch to hit Aus, so after 4 years of mods and understanding of turbo Liberties, I can pop my 2 cents in, I never said anything ugly or negative about the Tuned by STi car or ppl buying them, very nice cars, and hope some1 here mods 1 to see how it goes. I'm having ago about the price. As 4 my GT, my power up(STI bolt on's) include, STI engine mounts, STI engine shift stopper, STI cai, STI brake pads, STI springs, STI spark plugs, STI leads, STI oil filter, STI high flow cat, STI air deflector. I got more STI parts then docklands stock, about $2k fitted, does that mean my GT is tuned by STI too?? What about other Subaru owners that have even more STI parts???
just a quick aside: is the sti oil filter worth the extra fitty bucks?

I am struggling to get my head around your comparison of $2K worth of STI bolt ons on a 2003 GT vs the MY07 Tuned by STI Libo but for the record no it does not make your car tuned by sti. Lets just look at the ecu tuned by sti for aussie conditions, brembos, STI 6MT tranny, sti suspension parts, enkei wheels and pirelli tyres, leather seats for starters.

Just so you know I have come from owning two wrx sti's previously including the most recent a MY06 STI tuned to stage 2. I can tell you plenty about sti bolt on's and just because you bolted them on to your wrx doesn't make it a wrx sti.

The bolt on bits are worth a lot more than the 10k price difference over the normal Spec B Gt...so from that point of view it's great value.

Or maybe a Cuban cigar Che baby! You little rebel you.

I think if you look at the STI and compare it to the new BMW335 twin turbo it puts price into perspective, hands down to the Liberty.
I was a bit sceptical at first but now I think it appears Subaru has made an attempt to differentiate this vehicle from the lower spec models, and can, I believe, charge the asking price.
