Stay away from Beaurepaires

  Top of Page

I got some tyres fitted to my rims there and not 2 weeks later I find I have a lock nut missing. So I ring them up and they say 'buy some more keep the reciept and we will reinburse you'. I get there show them the recipt for the new lug nuts and they say a week and half has passed its not our problem. I have a bit of an argument with the manager saying you have already agreed to replace them he said I did not say that one of my staff did and he was pretty much saying I should have checked them myself. I reply with so you dont garentee the wheels you fit will have their lug nuts tight enought not to come off going down the road, he replied you should have checked them yourself. I really wished there was more than one costumer in the shop to hear that. So I stormed off thinking I should install one of the 3 remaining lug nuts into the glass in their shop front, I refrained. So I begin fitting the newly bought lug nuts in their car park only to find another one of the lock nuts they 'tighttened' to be able to unscrew with my fingers. Dodgy buggers stay away from them. I have complained to their head office and I am prepaired to take it the consumer fair trading place maybe even ACA http://www.rslibertyclub.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif . Moral of the storey stay away from them at all costs.

copped similar treatment at bob jane's in adelaide on henley beach road.

went in for a wheel allignment specifically asking for a camber adjustment cos my wheels were hanging out the arches.

get the car out and it hasnt been touched, his response "oh these cars dont have camber adjustment" so i complained to the manager and he said it would cost me extra and i'd have to come back later. wasn't gonna have any of that so made a big scene ensuring everyone saw then said im not paying for a job half done and left!

never recieved a bill:lol:

After a phone call to the head office I had my money refunded. Hope their young apprentice who did it does not cop too much over it tho.

ACA for a wheel nut....
"Man loses a Nut, wants compensation".

I know its a PITA, and they should of done it right in the 1st place, but ffs some people take sh!t way too far these days, Australia will have as many lawsuits as the US soon.

i would agree with you but for the fact that the boss said he'd refund it then changed his mind.

still think i woulda done the same, tho it is rather pathetic that he should have to go that far. what happened to the days when a company worked hard to keep you coming back

Just goes to show you what happens when you pay someone $3 an hour (apprentice)
to work on your car. You should consider yourself lucky that you only lost a nut and not the whole wheel.
Give it to them hard, that was some bad ****.
Then they tell you it is your fault. go figure.

Hehe I was joking about aca but the smiley face got cut off in this forum. I agree how americans go sueing over this and that is stupid but I think my request was completely valid and I should not have even had to ring head office. I bet if it was a 50yo and not me a 22yo, who he thought would shut up and leave, the money would have been in his hands the first time with no need to stuff round.

Yeah, that's totally unfair, but I bet you're right.

When I was shopping for my new rims, a guy at one place quoted me some exorbitant price for the same rims I'd been quoted for elsewhere for a lot less, and the tyre he quoted me on wasn't even the right load rating for the car...

Even if the apprentice stuffed up the manager should have fixed the problem. At the end of the day everybody makes mistakes (especially apprentices) but it's how the manager deals with the problem that sets people apart. I hope their head office came down hard on them.

I would do the same its not about the money or anything but if they go and leave wheel nuts loose.... what if your doin 100 down the high way and a wheel comes off cos they left the wheel nuts loose its just dodgy i would be lettin every one i could know about it....
