service, rego and other car related stuff that steals all my monies...

  Top of Page

service:

200k km service from ultratune (as opposed to $1300 from subaru):
all oils
filters
plugs
thermostat (so my car stops cooling down when i roll down a hill)
timing belt
coolant flush
brake flush
UEC
i'm sure there's other ****...

= $750

rego:

green slip - $620
pink slip - $31
rego payment - ~ $250

= $901

other stuff i need/already got:

projectors: $140 (woot)
suspension that i can't use: $250 (ffs, i sent the guy another pm on rexnet again today)
replacement suspension: $400 - $600 depending what i get...
O2 sensor (cos my car runs rich, can you say 420km from 60l out of a 2.2??): $100 - $200

= $890 - $1190

want (in rough order):

my car to stop running rich (hopefully service will fix that)
heater gurgle to stop (ditto)
gearstick stop wobbling (need new gear linkage bushings)
HIDs for projectors
swaybars
rear strut brace
rx kit
paint job

Hi,

Yep, it's a good idea to include car servicing into your yearly budget. Including tyres and a little extra for unforeseeable complications (emu!).

Don't get me started on insurance...

Cheers,
Nik

No use complaining about the inevitable. All part and parcel of vehicle ownership.

that yearly rego cost must really suck!! But weigh it up against Public transport!! :suicide2:

I guess they all be shafting us one way or another for car ownership.. Tax this, tax that!! Pity they don't actually fix the roads for us either!! All that money gone where??

You could also DIY fluid changes such as coolant, oils etc.. that'll help out a little bit..
