Sad day

Well, I was speaking to a friend and I got a fantasic but sad idea.

Step one.
Sell my gen 1 liberty = $3000 if lucky.

Step 2
buy a friends toyota corolla = $1500 ... lol before u scream... it has the following
-Toyota Corolla AE82 SEDAN
-4AC converted to 4A-GE
-polished and shaved intake manifold
-4AG-ZE gearbox with Brass button clutch EFI fuel tank changed with a 500hp fuel pump
-Gine extractors to a resnator straight pipe to a cannon
-17 inch speedy wheels lowered springs and matching shocks

Step 3
- $1300 silver top 20 valve half cut coming
this is the fun part, Ill be converting it to a 20 valve, ultimate P plater sleeper.....
I estimate to run low 16's which is alright for a 3000 dollar car.....


many may ask Why?  Good bloody question...

well a few months back i had some drop kicks jump on the roof of my car which has destroyed any sex appeal it would have ever had and insurance would have killed the no calm bonus in the ass with no lube.
+ this car will be significantly faster then my liberty.....


Sad part 
I will not be leaving for ever... as soon as my p plate restrictions are gone, im gonna build a nice RS 

and ill be sure to put up some picks of my rolla which has already undergone work, being converted to Fuel injected which requires alot of work.....  now I come and fix the paint

It might be a sort of fast corolla, but its still going to be a corolla.... :beee:

I assume this... "20 valve" engine has something to brag about apart from the fact it has 20 valves? Because on its own that fact isn't going to make your car make the world go all blurry!

he's not going anywhere. this is his "plan" for the week.
a couple weeks ago, it was to buy an XR6T or something...yeah, right.

his liberty won't sell.

so next week will be a new plan, fitting the povpack LX liberty out with more rice.

Sheesh... Sounds like a money pit that 'rolla....

I say spend the money on fixing the Lib and just enjoy it while you're on your P's.
Save you're pennies for a nice original RS or GenII GT!!!

Us 'older' folks have all been there and done that with silly car mods, and can now look back and think WTF was I doing???

Seriously - get the Lib fixed - that's what insurance is there for!

the 20v apparently aren't as powerful as they're made out to be, but they love to be revved hard.

$1300 is a bit much for the engine though. best price i've seen is at Toyrolla Spares in Epping [ melb ] who had a 20v silver top, all wiring/loom/ecu etc, auto trans... for $700.

don't forget to turbocharge it!

XoN - 20 valve = 5 valves per cylinder. the regular 4AGE has 16 valves, producing 100kw. the 20v theoretically has 120kw for the silver top, 125ish for the black top [ black top is the updated one ].
