Yeah it looked good when it was green and subtle, that looked nice.

It looks like a joke in my opinion now, and I would be embarassed to drive it. Just way to far out for my liking, but hey, it's someones cup of tea no doubt.

Obviously the owner has chaged tastes too.

Personally I don't like anything about it except the badge.

Good luck selling though. There's always someone out there with more money than taste :blush2:

RYTONQ is not everyones taste, although I give him 1000 points for what he has done,

He has brought the GenIII or liberty's in general out to the public. Who else do you know of that has a "radical" looking GenIII ? SUB4RU - you are different to this, your car is sex, but RYTONQ turns heads everywhere!

Brendan, I am going to disagree with you here.

sorry petal.

If anything, I think it has soured the Liberty marque amongst the general public. Where Libertys (and Legacys, for argument's sake) are considered a more mature, discreet and respectable subaru motor vehicle, this particular Liberty has not only grabbed more attention of the pubic, its taken that image and has made it a tacky and hideous looking P plater mobile. I'll go out of a limb here saying this, but the P-Plater Liberty drivers here, would tend to shy away from the Lairy, attention seeking looks and publicity that this car attracts, for a more discreet, private vehicle.

Sure its a "different" car. Everyone in the "autosalon-esque" fraternity are getting bored of their riced up rexies, 200sxs, foresters, and corollas.

Horses for courses I guess. This one has a serious bout of the equine flu, and has three broken legs in my eyes.

Well done buddy.. get it out there!

I personally am sick of everyone classifying the lib as a car for someone that has had their "mid-life crisis", or it being called a Grandpa rocket,

These cars need to get the attention they deserve, I dont agree wit air-brushing and whatever else, but a nice Lib like SUB4RU's needs to get the attention it deserves.

Ahh. Umm. Sorry Brendan.

Have I foiled your plans for a Kandy Pink respray for you B4 in an effort to pick up chicks* whilst lapping Brighton/Stanmore Maccas/Kings Cross/Oxford Street?

I'm with Alex on this one. I bought the Lib because its an understated car, with decent performance for a 4 cyl, good economy, and great handling. And also because it doesn't have the same image all the other ricers out there get...

Alex, this is one time we will dissagree.
I don't think Merc and BMW marques have been soured by this type of stuff being done to a car. It brings a certain air of desirability.
You appear to have catagorised the Liberty as a conservative vehicle, whereas I and others it appears, consider it to be a vehicle with a far broader reaching appeal.
I reckon each to their own and if it looks good then great, if not, you'll get flamed. This will bring youngsters, who had never considered a Liberty, into the fold.
Brand procreation, we love it.

Frank,

In the fear of sounding like a Subaru traitor, I'll respond like this:
Mercedes and BMW have a lot more heritage and establishment behind them. Unfortunately, especially here in this country, BMW and Mercedes won't have their marques as easily ruined. Having said that, I have seen such cars defaced. More so, on the cheaper end of their range. Pretty much comparing the Subaru to the mighty Teutons, is like comparing chalk to cheese.

Such modifications bring this air of desireability to the lower ends of the socio-economic demographic, in an almost desperate attempt to fit into the upper classes. But this is another discussion all toghether.

I guess, I'll only agree to disagree. We have our opinions about it. Nothing like a good healthy discussion about it, to get us through our monotonous, long, Thursday morning!
