Nice if you've got something like that jsut round the corner so you can satisfy the boredom bug.
Most other people just drink/smoke or sniff petrol...

Hahaha nice. My mate used to have a big arse hill like that on there farm in Seymour.
We used to flog an old torana up it. The trick was to have it doing about 80km when you got to the base, other wise you'd slide back down. Or if you were going to fast you'd slam the front end into the hill (Did that plenty of time's!).

This is what I thought the thread would be about.

I haven't climbed in about 2 years.  Got my own rack and used to go over to arapiles about 3 times a year but I don't recognise that pitch, which one is it?  I used to climb a fair bit with Akira (Callam) on RSLC whilst we were UGs at Adelaide Uni.

Cheers

Small world, I have climbed here in Canberra with Akira too. Not sure what the climb was/is called it's at another set of rocks just up from Araps (near a lake). Araps is behind us, on the other side of the road. Spent a week there but it wasn't long enough, got to plan the return one day.

OzLib RockClimbing Trip FTW.  The pines is full of subarus anyway.

Mori is the place.  There's Norton "Hard Man 23+ Land" Summit which I've done a few climbs on, the Ubiquidous Peregrine, lead it like a dog, but then ran clean laps on top rope all afternoon.

I'm guessing the formation that you climbed on is Mitre Rock?  I'm keen to head to Araps sometime when it's not so hot and climb there for around 4 days in mid-year break (I'm now teaching at Uni) if your keen Callum (hopefully the Conversion finished by then (don't ask!!!)).  I've been wanting to tick some more stuff on Organ pipes or maybe the Baard if you lead the crux pitch?

You climbed at Kamba pools?  it's so nice there in the heat of summer, you take a lunch break and go swimming, sweet.

Callum, it just so happens that I'm listening to some of Ed's music ATM, he so needs a Gen2 WRX ALAH Al conversion in replacement of his 13B that's about to explode, LOL.

Anyway you coming to Adelaide sometime in the near future, as I thinks there be some beers in order, and maybe a shakedown cruise (say late April)?

This is sort of OnTopic.

Cheers

That's the one Mitre rock, we climbed a heap over that way on day one to get honed in - was bloody cold though. Did too many climbs to remember the names at Araps, lead a couple of lower grade climbs at the organ pipes, we did a few climbs with 3 of us and seconded a fair score in a week. Also dropped around to Bushrangers bluff and did some there too - all in one week ! My favourite was agamenmon, it was our last climb of the trip and we finished with about 5 mins to spare before it pissed down.

The pines was like a Subie carpark when I went there for sure, awesome to see.

Re: rockclimbing anyone??

I think the pines is full of AusSubaru members as it chockas of Lifted L series and their predecessors.  A few Gen1s and the occasional outback and foz.  Let me just say the Gen3 now with lowered suspension wouldn't like it.

You guys ever camped in the gums.  I think about it every time I go, and then get scared off by all the families and non-climbers that camp there, LoL.

Anyways better let this thread get back on topic a little.  Callum call me sometime as I've got a FY student that doesn't want to play in ElecEng field, but doens't want to waste her degree either, so I suggested joining some sort of consutling firm like where you work.
