Reefton Spur

  Top of Page

For those of you in Victoria there is a good chance you have driven the reefton spur.
I drove it for the first time on friday on the way to marysville to see first hand the destruction and regroth and spend a bit of money up there, great driving road & recomend it to everyone.

For those of you havn't been through since the bushfires i thought i'd post a few pics of what we saw on the way. We took no photos of marysville itself, just what we saw along the way.

A lot of black but also a lot of green.

Did somthing similar 2 weeks ago. Went through Yarra Glen to Kinglake and had lunch in Pheasant Creek. Absolute devastation. Its as if the ground was sterilised by the heat, not much grass around but the trees are coming back. Drove back down the Kinglake/Heidelberg Rd. Man this road is now scary. I used to rip along there but never realised how steep the drop is or how far to the bottom! 40kph speedlimit now.
Cheers
