Remember when CBA took over Colonial in the 90's and it worried a few people. It worked out OK. The report says it's only talk ATM, unless you know something Brendan.
Should I be buying some St George shares right now?

Yes yes you should..

Shares about $22.00 at the moment... lowest in the last 6 years.. were up to $30.00 at one stage..

The CEO sent us an email / broadcast voice mail, and the sound of the runts voice sounds like a yes..

Shares will sky-rocket.  even Im thinking of buying about $20,000 worth at the moment!:shok: but then again I already got a fair few wink

That's funny, I assumed Westpac has no money left seeing as they've cut commission down to practically nothing for brokers...

Well.. Westpac gets most of their business through the branch network.. stg on the other hand, we rely on Brokers, hence why we pay so much..

Im a BA / PM on Broker reporting systems at the moment, so I see all the stuff coming through

hmm... We have a training centre here that looks and feels exactly like a Branch... if you get a job as a teller in any state, they fly you here and accomodate you for the week training on systems.. some of these QLD chicks.. are that hot, I can't leave my desk for an hour..

Blonde hair / Blue eyes / tan.. winning combo!

funniest bit is.. there is always a little homo straggling behind the pack of chicks that wants to work at the teller... what a waste of having all those chicks in your class.

Hi Brendan,

Considering your unwavering devotion and concentration of the work task at hand, never jumping on random sites on the internet to kill time, and not one known for sniffing chairs - I'm sure your job is safe mate.

Just in case though...

big_smile

Hope it all works out for the best mate. Do you get stock as part of a salary?

Cheers,
Nik

I get given $1000 shares every year as a christmas pressie from the bank..

Im reading all these comments from readers of the article an 99.98% vow to leave STG if the merger takes place.. as they all left westpac because of bad service, just to be re-united again!

Hi,

It might the ultimate kick in the guts if the bottom falls out of the share price.

people get shares for pressies because the CEO knows that if you have financial interest in something, you're going to work harder/better to get your moneys worth..

good luck though, but i'm tipping you'll be safe

yeah same here..

My Credit card and my old Personal Loan were the same rate.. and lets just say its prob a 1/4 of what everyone elses rates are smile

and the mortgage is pretty subsidised too.. not acct fees on anything for staff.. and no other bank ATM fee.

Hmmmmm...... we have our main mortgage with St George (luckily, locked in for 5 years before the spate of rate rises), and I was considering moving the other one (Westpac) to them once it goes back to variable in August, but now I'm not so sure........

Have they let any info out about combining any of the loan products?

Yeah... broadly..

St.George will remain and Westpac will remain as 2 seperate brand names and identities throughout and after the merger, although they will combine to be a major money making profit centre as all banks are.

So.. we will continue with what we do and so will they..

although.

Gail Kelly is probably the best thing to have ever happened to STG, and many people are happy to have her back as CEO compared to this dildo we have now.. ball-less runt.

but then again.. this is if I still have a job here..
