Redback Mufflers

I have a 2.25" sports system on my liberty with a very restrictive supercat muffler on it it sounds good at idle not really loud and a nice boxer rumble at low revs but it sounds bad towards high revs. Im thinking of taking it off and putting a staight through redback on it, ive heard them on subys before and they sound great. Has anyone used them ?

not that im aware mate, most people just get a oval shape muffler with UEL extractors for the wrx sound.

what do you mean by 'sounds bad towards high revs'?  What sort of sound are you after?

Gen1 has mad burble, no need to change headers

i would go and talk to the shop and see what they can do, the redbacks to sound good for a cheaper muffler!

Yeah mines a first gen so its got the factory UEL headers smile
got a nice rumble now, but its muffled really bad and the muffler is quite restrictive with bad flow,

Big Willie, what I mean is with the muffler, when it gets towards 5000 > it sounds really tinny and loses the 'boxer sound' and only sounds like this because of the muffler, so I think I will go ahead and get the redback straight through smile and see how it goes smile

jakefake, try going to a scrapyard and find an old 1st gen liberty and have a look for headers in decent condition, first gens have UEL headers you might be able to get a set there for ALOT less than those ones on ebay. Also depending if they fit a gen 3, im not sure.
You'll get the nice boxer rumble with them though smile
