Rage quit...

  Top of Page

Question: What's the best 'rage quit' you've heard of?

ie. the boss picks on Fred because he gets back from lunch 4 minutes late, Fred snaps, quits and storms out, keys the bosses car, slashes his tires and mail's a big smelly turd to his family's house.

Please only actual ones you've heard of, not "you should do this" type ones...

No! He didn't steal anything, didn't break anything, didn't sabotage anything. It was, literally, the lamest result possible. I was hoping he'd run in to someone's car on the way out or something but nooooo...
And here I was looking forward to today :black eye

Ok this guy was training in the NSWP, he was told to leave the Goulburn Academy, so he pulled a gun on a Police instructor, and said "your gunna die bitch".

Hence to say he's not a cop now, and probably in a psych home.

No I cannot elaborate more :nono:

I had a run in with my boss last year, he'd just been promoted to general manager & it went to his head, sh1tty job that I didn't really need as I'm lazy & don't really need to work, anyhow I got accused of something I didn't do & my supervisor & I were summoned to his office, she was crapping herself & I was laughing my head off when she told me what the complaint against me was, so we go in and he starts asking all these stupid questins & I'm still laughing but he kept going on & on & on & I was starting to get pissed off so I stood up & said BASH IT UP YOUR FUCXING ARSE and walked out, as I'm walking out he says "you're fired for insubordination" to which I replied/yelled LIKE *** I QUIT FIRST YOU COCKSMOKER, god it felt good.:nono:

Re: Rage quit...

I'd worked 10 years for a company, and had enough after a new person was employed, (I'll call him Mr Dimwit) who was supposed to do a certain job, but managed to snake his way into a managerial position by kissing ass.

I saw right through him, and he didn't like it one bit.  I was railroaded into a role I didn't want - but he thinly disguised it as a promotion by pumping up the job title, so when I complained higher up, they took his side & told me I was silly for complaining about a promotion.  I had no say in it, I was moved into it, and the union wouldn't help because they saw it as a "promotion" too, even after I explained to them about the background.

Anyway, he then changed my hours, which, really, really disrupted the routine I'd gotten into with my family life, travel and car-pooling with co-workers (it was 55km one-way to work).

I put in for 4 weeks holidays (so I could travel around Tasmania with the Vintage Car Club we're in) and he refused it - even though I was not answerable to him directly......
I managed to get 2 weeks, so I planned to have 2 weeks long service snuck through when he wasn't around (he had most fridays as 'work from home' days).

On the last day before my holiday, Dimwit rang me 2 minutes before I finished, to have a go at me (I thought it was for the 2 + 2 weeks, but he didn't know at the time) accusing me of badmouthing him to major suppliers, and 2 big distributors.  One thing I never do is spread internal issues outside, no matter how bad, and I never badmouth colleagues except to their face).  I'd actually been told by the very people he claimed, that THEY had personality problems with him, and that he was so lazy that they had to talk to me to get some action, and wanted HIS superior's details to lodge a formal complaint.
So I went right off, and screamed at him that I expected a written apology when I returned from holidays, or I would not speak to him again.

On the last week of my hols, I was back home, had a job interview, and got the job - starting in 4 weeks.

I returned to work, resignation written, and with a plan to really get back at him.  1st morning back, he says hello, I ignore him.
I handed my resignation in (to my boss), who sadly accepted it, and when I told him my reasons, agreed totally with me, and wrote an amazing reference.

1/2 hour later, Dimwit is in front of my desk, asking me "what does this mean" - holding a printed copy of my resignation.
I turned, picked up the phone, and rang the warehouse, spending a good 20 minutes on the phone to him (work related) with Dimwit still in front of me, asking about my resignation.  The storeman on the phone asked if I wanted to get off the phone, so I replied "nope, there's nobody here to worry about, just some clown who can't take a hint, and still owes me a written apology."

Similar things took place every day, with no hint of an apology, so I kept ignoring him - like hey, you gunna sack me?  Whoopee do!

They made me work my full 4 weeks notice, and on the last day i was given a farewell party & a gift.  I said goodbye to each & every workmate (over 50 of them on the site) except him, and I actually walked past where he stood, deliberately, on a number of occasions!

I had the car idling in the loading dock (nice rumbly 5L with a very loud exhaust) with the climate on 18 to cool it down (summer afternoon).
He stood at the bottom of the stairs, one step up, rocking back on his heels, hands in his pockets, smirking like a cheshire cat.  His only comment as I went to leave was "I hear you're getting a ford as your company car over there, ha ha"

I was going to ignore it, but temptation got the better of me.....I simply replied, at the top of my voice, in front of everyone, including the big bosses  "go and get f..... you sly mongrel, I'd happily have a ford if it means I don't have to work with you.  I'm leaving because you're a lazy, sleazy f...wit who annoys the crap out of everyone, and dumps work onto others because you're too f..n lazy to do it, then blames for the backlash because I uncover your laziness. The minute you stop licking XXX's ass, you'll be gone out of here"

I quickly scanned the room, to see a whole lot of jaws on the ground, said "see ya's" with a big grin, and went pretty quickly out to the loading dock, jumped down the 3 steps, and got in the car.  He stormed up to the door & tried to rip it open, so I planted it - left 2 nice black lines (thanks to a tight LSD), and swung the rear 1/4 around so it nearly hit him (purely an accident - I wasn't that skilled!).

Got about 5km down the road and a cop screamed up behind me, lights going - singling me out.  I pulled over, and he came up to the window with the usual "know why I pulled you over?" question.  I answered no - I had not done anything wrong (on the road!).

He then told me they had reports of my car driving recklessly and doing burnouts.  I told him I did 1 short burnout in the loading dock of the company I just left - all on private property, and I did it because I was in fear of my life because a crazed lunatic was trying to drag me out of my car.

After a few minutes on his mobile phone & police radio, he came back to me with some "advice" on keeping a cool head, and to behave myself.  I then asked if the complainant was Mr Dimwit, and he smiled & said, "I can't disclose that info, but I know from your account of events, and his, I can work out what went on here - so just behave yourself and take it easy"

The best part was Dimwit lasted only a couple more weeks before he was gone, and they asked me to come back.  I refused, as I liked my new job better, and it was a lot more $$ than they were offering.

The best part is, some 6 years on, I visit a few distributors (all over NSW) with the company I work for, and he's working for a company that also sees some of the same guys, but mainly in one little pocket of an area.  They know me quite well, and I've been kept updated with news on how poor his attitude has remained.

Early happy birthday to me, im finally out of this s**thole!"

I told a select few wholesale clients why I was leaving.. they completely understood smile I hated that job
