questions on an ej22

  Top of Page

:help: hey ppl.
ive got ej22 (b2 if that helps) 300000km, in a 96 liberty and i cooked the motor recently and was look ing to find out a couple of things b4 i fubar my motor completley.:umnik:
1)are the ej20 and 25 compatible without any conversion?(are heads interchangable)
2)workshops to carry out major work on the goldcoast or south brissie ?
3)best places for purchases (online and stores)ie. manuals, heads and gaskets, waterpump etc...etc...etc...:lazy3:
4) how reliable are the imports ?and importers(workwise)?
was quoted $2500 for headwork and waterpump, which seems fair,  but i dont think it will pass a pressure test cause it kicked out two sparky leads when i did the damage and read some where that it cant be machined. best to get new heads all together or reco motor which was quoted $4000 uninstalled
just tryin to figure out best option.
any input  is appreciated.
anyways, hi and bye,
thanks
ja

You should be able to buy a s/h ej22 from a wreckers for well under 1K and just drop it in.

For 4k, thats turbo conversion territory with an early wrx/legacy frontcut.

No way i'd be spending 4K on a replacement ej22.
