by B4Cruiser on 08-08-07 11:40 AM Of course everyone wants more power and it comes down to how much is enough for the individual and what they want out of the car.

by Guest on 08-08-07 11:53 AM I think for a lot of people it's factory tune (b4=crap) vs. potential.. If you don't need a silent exhaust and you don't mind spending extra on a bigger IC, you get good gains for not really very much $$ |

by ams on 08-08-07 11:59 AM I'm more interested in being able to boot it when I want - and there actually being power there.

by MY02B4 on 08-08-07 12:25 PM I dont really care about power figures. For me its torque (which is related to power more or less) but i dont go out to achieve a certain figure. 1/4 mile is most important to me but i wouldn't compromise a driveability and a smooth power curve. Of cos if we're talking a project/weekend car then i'd just get a RWD and go for power figures |

Originally, this article sparked the desire to post this thread. http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_108654/article.html Little do people realise that performance DOES NOT just mean "making your car go from x to y in a New York minute" - What about handling, balance, response? No? |

Haha i forgot budget is also a problem now go fix up your farting car and keep your dress on. Yes everyone does realise that but unless you plan to track your car, there's really no need to go beyond your typical suspension mods. It depends on what you intend to do with your car. Obviously if you want to build a kw beast then you're going to give up on response sooner or later. |

Being an auto, responsiveness is my main aim; hence minimising VOD. Compared to me old car, imo, despite the B4's weight i find the handling pretty good but down the track will invest in sways bars etc for those odd twisties runs. haha its ok to be jealous.

I don't imagine that to be true at all, but then again, I'm thinking 'balance' which is clearly an oversight here ![]() Even said "KW beast" needs attention to appropriate handling mods. A need to improve on how power is being put down is bloody important IMO. |

by MY02B4 on 08-08-07 01:57 PM Its all important. I'm just talking abt the extreme cases. Most people here aim to build a tough street car which encompasses a bit of everything. I said my aim is 1/4 mile which doesn't mean i'm going to response, handling and braking power because i intend to keep it as a daily driven car.

hahaha. Yes i'd prefer a manual but i don't regret buying my B4. But I'm ready to drag ur dust gathering car anyday to shame ur Suki-tek; or is ur clutch "playing" up again?

Improving responsiveness on a Subaru tip/steptronic-esque auto is a no no... ![]() I'd be swapping that out with something of decent 6 speed proportions and MAYBE even DCCD. |

by iOrion on 08-08-07 03:35 PM Not that it is going to improve on response, BUT you can get a Paddleshift setup that will work with your current box. |

by B4Cruiser on 08-08-07 03:56 PM The B4 comes with up/down shift buttons on the steering wheel; which can be useful thru the twisties. |

hehe yeah mate it does. Apparently the sports-shift was too complicated for MY02B4 to operate when he drove me car. Obviously it was designed to be child proof...
