PICS|Drift Australia Finals|No 56K

  Top of Page

Went to the Drift Australia Finals at Oran Park on Sunday and thought I'd try my hand at some action shots.

So here's some pics for those that are interested.. There's a lot of them, so I'm assuming they'll take a while to load.

Cheers,

Jonno :bye:

Hahaha.. Thanks Alex! smile

Nah, unfortunatley Beau was knocked out fairly early in the round so we didn't get to see an awful lot of his drifting which was a shame..

Wasn't many AE86's either.. but there was this awesome one with a V8 and individual throttle bodies which screamed its little head off.

Hey nice pics mate. Did you use photoshop to make the background grey n white so that the cars appear in colour? I know my compact digicam has a feature where you u can select one colour and it just captures that colour.

he still does.. its not a bad looking car, still no Torana, but its ok I guess...

Indy is a good egg, takes heaps of verbal abuse and dishes it back just as good,

he knows his way around the B4 quite well too, and will go outta his way to help you.

I was giving him stick about that Chrome 200sx while my clutch was being changed, telling him its a heap of crap ahahaha, he got cut! :comando:

Hahaha thanks Theo! smile

There's no doubt that the Commodores can get it sideways and smoke it up.. But to me.. there's something not right about hearing a 6.0L V8 rumbling and lumping round the track against all these high-strung Jap engines..

Just doesn't fit in, in my opinion.

And Millen's Solstice is nuts.. saw some documentary thing on the build up of it.. It's certainly moves, but again, I still love seeing/ hearing the Jap cars sliding around the track! smile

haha i know what you mean, i was only doing a bit of stirring really.. haha.. had a bit of nationalistic pride remembering that he was racing in what was basically a minaro..

there was a documentary on RIDES on discovery about the drifting champs in the US which featured the build of his yellow GTO, that was a pretty good documentary.. it also had one of the apex'i RX-7 brought over from japland along with a couple of pro apex'i drivers..

the solistice is a bit of a novelty really, doesnt really fit in with the RX-7s and Silvias of the drifting world.. but still millen seems to be able to get it sideways pretty well.. it must weigh next to nothing! its tiny!!

Nice Pics!

I was out there as well, it could be a V8 plague:) ,counted 3 LS1s that have relocated into Jap Cars-
Autosound R34, Sureflo 300ZX and Orange S13

There's no skill in powerslidin'-clutch kick FTW.:clapping:
