by Kevlar GT on 06-01-08 02:24 PM Not Canberra - Fuel here is closer to $1.50 for std unleaded, $1.10 would be a dream. Anyway, most of these have been debunked in one way or another. It's not going to make a scrap of difference who sells the petrol as to what the price is. |

by alexxx on 06-01-08 02:31 PM its not just the petrol companies, the government takes out some rediculous figure (something like $0.80) per litre! |

If this 'petrol tax' goes back into our roads, I dont mind paying a bit extra. I dont know about you eastern states yobo's but our roads in WA are 1000% better than (for example) Sydney streets which is the only place I can compare it too. |

by Soop on 06-01-08 03:05 PM Have alook at some of the budgetting for road repairs and such, then compare that against the Government sallaries, and budgets for "caucus meetings". They piss away more cash on themselves then they put into the community. |

There's a lot more to it than that. Scarcity, refinery costs etc. play a big part in it. And if they aren't making any money, why would they bother? I mean, it's a business everyone is trying to run. |

by CRUISN on 06-01-08 03:32 PM If the government charged only one tax on petrol and not two (excise, then gst on top) that would make a saving on the price straight off. Blame the government first imo. |

by theprotest on 06-01-08 05:09 PM I think WA is the only state that has Fuel Watch too. I wouldn't hold your breathe for the tax to be reduced. |
