Hybrids and alternative fuel sources will be the norm before that happens.

ACA isnt on sbs im afraid smile

however, before you stress and fret, you must realise that a chief of caltex, nay any petrol company is about as trustworthy as the devil. id believe them just about as much as the winfield board of directors about the safety of smoking. there is an issue though, and its a worrying prospect - especially with the ammount of new cars, trucks etc being produced each year

As long as the Yanks keep invading/bombing oil producing countries the price per barrel will just keep going up and up. Still what I hear from people that travel our price per liter is low. I.e Turkey = $2.70 per liter, Germany = $2.40 per liter. :butcher:
you are right my uncle in austrial pays that and pretty much most of europe drive diesel cars as the fuel consumption is low and its cheapper....so turbo diesel FTW:Dirol:

^^ Youtube is Rick Rolling everyone today. It's part of the Featured Videos bit on the home page.

As for petrol prices, in regards to ethanol, it may be 3c a litre cheaper, "better" for the environment, but the amount of land required to make the ingredients, it's too much to produce fresh food. Therefore, fresh food prices will skyrocket because there is less land to grow it. It's another case of supply vs. demand.

You were watching Insight, which is an opinions based open floor debate style show were people are voicing there concerns and thoughts on a particular topic.

Frank Topham is not a 'big chief guy', he is the Government Affairs Manager. Victor Johnson, Toyota, is the Fleet Sales Manager.

Terry Tamminen is an environmental adviser to Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is also the author of Lives Per Gallon which takes a hard look at the health, environmental, and national security costs hidden in every barrel of oil.

The show does highlight some interesting points, ALL of which are OPINIONS. Very little fact was unearthed over the course of the hour.
