Perhaps a forum with clearer, more defined sections and perhaps a menu bar with DIY guides, FAQ's, and other useful links that could be used quite often by members.

I think a definite is to increase the PM capacity up to over 50 (200 would be good) as 50 is barely workable.

I think organisation would be the key, so that we can have a lot of information on the site - but without cluttering and intimidating the end user.

For a new user that comes and joins, it should be simple and easy for them to find the information they need. For experienced and 'aged' users it should be informative, easy to navigate and should always remain easy to follow in terms of discussions and threads etc..

I think site improvements and suggestions should be taken on board more actively, and perhaps some extra people allowed to contribute to the forum / site so that users requests and suggestions do not fall on deaf ears.

My 2c (for now).

+1 for that. a section off limits where anything pretty much goes.

i would like a function ive used on other forums, where when you run the cursor over the thread, the latest post appears in a pop up for about 5 seconds. atm on ozliberty, only the first post on the thread pops up. not really useful when the thread is a few pages long. makes browsing quicker as you dont have to open the thread to view the last post to see if has any useful info, or something you can reply to.

protection against bots signing on and throwing garbage porn and viagra threads.

Perhaps you could set up a Team Speak server. So that we could actually have online convosations?

Its free, and all you'd need to do is post up the access details on the Forum

As someone said before have an area where only logged in members can go but they must also have a certain amount of posts before they have access.

Just a suggestion.

what do you mean no one would bother. The access to things also changes as it goes up.

Like we have trusted users and I can remember the title that is given when you first join. I dont know what it is but something to do with PMing and some other things and once you get 5 posts you get higher pm storage and become a trusted user. (I think that is what it is like now... But i may be wrong).

I think that perhaps integrating a 'WIKI' in to this site could be VERY useful.

* Can be edited and changed by other users

In saying this, forums with the correct layout and a good CMS will achieve the same results but just another suggestion for the basket

this is why i now can't access ozlib at work.  our filters musta picked up porn thread and flagged ozlib as containing s*x and nudity.  :angry2:

Maybe the option of sending a PM to all VIC/NSW/SA members etc when a meet is organised? (I think Josh brought it up somewhere)  I think it would be neat but others may think that may be too much spam....

clean up myride would be nice also.
