by NIK022 on 15-02-08 04:53 PM Hey guys just joined, just got my first car 1997 Liberty GX Sedan. Its in Mickey Mouse condition. I've just started to tune it a bit, I don't want a 10sec Scooby on my P's. My whole family drive Subarus, 03 RX, MY05 STi and MY04 WRX. |

Welcome Nick, I am sure you will get a good mix of advice and criticism. As mentioned use the SEARCH button and check out the how to mod an NA threads, plenty of info out there. If you get stuck along the way, just ask and i am sure someone will give you a point in the right direction. Sounds like a nice line up in the family mate, a couple of nice 'hand me downs' in the future! k:

by NIK022 on 15-02-08 06:05 PM Thanks a bunch guys, in the last 2 hours i've really re-thought my build, i'm looking at a shift kit now, auto-lag is one of my pet hates. this site's full of tech-heads and DIY's. Regarding the pod, apparently if you have it covered its legal and its more to help it breathe better than to increase performance, i dnt expect kW increase for 30 buks. |

by Soop on 15-02-08 06:12 PM Ahh, an RX kit doesnt really constitute a custom body kit |

by NIK022 on 15-02-08 06:58 PM yeh ur rite, $2500 unpainted is a bit of an expensive piece of plastic, so far the pods workin for me, altho if it screws up i'l put a K&N flat board in the factory box. |

dont put a k&n panel filter in as our cars run a "hotwire" maf and they dont like the oil too much. (i had one, just sold it) the off the shelf ryco panel filter will do the job nicely, just do a "resonatorectomy" and ditch the pod ![]() as for the rx foggies, you WILL need the rx front bar. they wont fit yours. I have the same bar and got a set of NZdm lights from ebay and fitted them. with the dash switch for $85.

yes thats it. the oz spec lx, gx's had a factory option for the fog lights but they were square. these are NZdm ones but they fit straight into the surround with a little bit of modding for the mounting ![]() not in mine it wasnt. ahh the joys of being an electrician. its all there now and wired as factory with the foggie swtch also. i added the wires i was missing and the relay. fuses were already there. maybe i'll retrace the steps and DIY it. |
