Nokias aren't machine washable.

So I'm after a new phone.

I did like my 6500 classic.

Well, I sorta did. It was sleek, neat, did everything I wanted it to, but the battery life was uber ghey, when I used it as a MP3 listening device when at the gym.

So, Wanna know what else is out there, that is slim, sleek, has bluetooth, decent camera, and nothing ubernerdy and unnecessary (like GPS...)

Waterproof optional.

Hit me.

N95 for all the wanky glory!  It is:
* Fat
* Bulky
* Sticks out like dog nuts in your pocket
* GPS with stupidly expensive navigation option
* No touch screen
* Needs to be hacked to install 3rd party applications
But it does work pretty bloody well, great camera, awesome functionality when you break through the anal security barrier.

And you can plug standard headphones straight in.  Which is fkn awesome!

Hi,

N95 is probably overkill, and is a massive phone.

Try N73.

Unless you want a female American flip phone?

LG Viewty? (KU990)?

Not bad, I've had one a few weeks now. Battery life is pretty average and touch screen can be fiddly at times but its got plenty of good features. (DIVX player, 5mp camera, 3G etc).

N95 is THE most personal phone I've ever owned. It does everything I could possibly want it to. The only thing I wish it had was a keyboard wink

Get yourself the bluetooth keyboard! (jk don't).

However, DO get RaceChrono (http://www.racechrono.com/) its an awesome bit of software that is intended for track racing but has a great datalogger which uses the internal GPS and lets you export to Google Earth etc.  Again, a bit of a wank but a great bit of gear.  And its FREE! :neo:

Nokia 6300.
Its a phone and thats all. Sure it does other stuff, like take pictures, but I get the feeling they aren't high on its priority list... The phone portion on the other hand, seems great. Great sound quality, good reception, so on and so forth.

I had a 6500. Why would I want to step backwards in getting a 6300? I may as well get another 6500 if that's the case. I was hoping there would have been something else out there that may have tickled my fancy with a camera with more MP, for example.

There's nothing terribly exciting around in mobile phones ATM, I'm afraid...

$1k on Hookers & Blow >>> $1k on a phone.

Alex; they also don't make them like they used to. I never had to 'update the firmware' on a 3310.

I still reckon N73 though...

Nik

Sure, they're great until the ear piece and microphone stop working and the screen goes. We have a fleet of just over a hundred of them here and 25% of them have suffered these problems.

Now... If only you could get the Company to pay for Hookers & Blow then you'd have a PWNing argument for Nik

Although a counter to Nik's equations of:
1k on hookers & blow >>> 1k on Phone...

Phones charge you for STD, Hookers GIVE you STD's. I'd rather the running costs of STD calls than Crabs...
