Dude its .gov.au - not just anyone can get these domain names, it is an official government site. When the Government has Sensis, I don't think they need to run another scam to get everyones details. |

Private numbers mean bugger all to companies who've obtained your number legitimately, sell your number to bastards with autodialers... I've had phone calls from the sales team of the company I work for and my account is marked as staff! They still tried to sell me the upgrade too, cheeky buggers... |

by d_generate on 02-05-07 02:33 PM I like telemarketers, I let them talk for a minute or so then I tell them there is someone at the door, put the phone down & carry on with what I was doing...................they like waiting NOT:) Or if they are japatti munching Indians I keep prattling on about the Rolls Royce I'm selling & keep asking them when they are coming for a test drive, because their calls are totally scripted it throws them right off track, oh well it keeps me amused. |

Say what?? Telstra own sensis, not the Government! Yes I know the Government own some of telstra, but in reality Telstra don't have that much say in Sensis. Also there is a privacy act, so the gov, can't just grab numbers! |

by [JAZZIE] on 02-05-07 03:43 PM I wont mention the fact that the company i work for is contracted on behalf of telstra to ring people and sell them new phone contracts or to revert them back to telstra |

we have this system called "datawasher" it gets fed a list of customer numbers that are not interested or are abusive and their number gets put in and it compares the users details to other numbers in the system and deletes those too. Bare in mind Telstra outsource to a lot of companies.. we aren’t telstra’s biggest reseller.. but we sell more than telstra themselves. I thankfully am not in sales.. im IT support

I ask them about themselves and how their family is and what their pay is like and if they have any job satisfaction...the longer you keep them on the phone your cheating them out of commision for sales so I string them along as long as possible. I think i'll ask the next one what they're wearing..
