Gday, Search is your friend.

To get you started, check the DIY subsection for some interesting things.

also

whiteline.com.au
for all your suspension needs.

As far as your car goes in the power department, you'll need to convert it. smile

IMO your best off upgrading the suspension and being happy with it.

Welcome to the site. The bilstein is indeed a great car! Not sure if I'd call it an upgrade for a silvia though... Certainly not in the power department
Looking forward to seeing some pics :victory:

Also Build quality, Nissans are built like Sh!t compared to most other makes of Japanese cars.

Re: new upgrade

yeh you have a point. ive only had my liberty 2days now but you cant compare to the silvia. i just got sick of my silvia i kept getting pulled over for no reason etc... at least like this later i will fix up the engine and then i will see how it goes. the bilstein edition doesnt really need too much body work because it already comes with alot of sporty features like the cannon at the back and fullkit etc... and the leather interior is another thing in its own

Re: new upgrade

Did you mean that a previous owner fitted a cannon?

perhaps, if you tend to keep with the common Liberty styling. you could replace it with an oval sports muffler. sounds just a good (IMHO better) and suits the car a lot better.

Re: new upgrade

well i was told when buying the car that the bilstein edition comes with a cannon. is that right? i dont know all that much about the car, due to playing around with the silvia for a long time.

Re: new upgrade

Hmm, i'm no expert. But i feel pretty safe in saying they did not come with a cannon, perhaps a slightly larger tip.

My reason for believe that they didn't is because cannon generaly take the sound levels out of legal volume's.

Re: new upgrade

I'd guess at 55-65KW.

My Ej22 ran 71.3kw through an Automatic trans, it has extractors, standard cat and a 2.5' press bent exhaust.

I'd say that your car could easy make 80-85kw with the same mods.

post some pics of your muffler.

Re: new upgrade

oh yeh thats not much compared to my silvia, but the difference being my silvia can hit 7000 revs no problems and still pick up next gear. but with the libs... you have all fours to get power through not like the silvia just at the rear. well i have a rear shot of the car showing the tip i will try put that up

Re: new upgrade

Yeah, thats not stock :mda:

Just think of it like this, How many times did you have to hit the picks hard, before entering a corner in the Silvia?

How many times will you have to do it with AWD grip?

The time lost in a straight line can be made up by cornering wisely.

Also,

Silvia drive line:
Engine - Transmission - Diff - Tires

Subaru Drive  line:

Engine - Transmission - Center Diff - Front diff - wheels - rear diff - wheels.
(i realize that might not be Chronologically correct but you get my drift, or lack there of big_smile)

Take into account the drive train loss incurred by such a complex structure, an the EJ motors can hold there own i believe, in comparison to the same displacement NA Inline four cylinder.

Re: new upgrade

yeh i can see the taking corners part in the silvia not very hard to kick the ass end out and with the libertys awd i can kind of relax on corners and drive comfortably

Re: new upgrade

A good moto, no matter what car you driving, is :

"Don't surprise the car, and the car wont surprise you."

By this i mean, once you start on a line, stick with it. And you wont get bitten.

The AWD helps you take the straightest line possible, making it harder to "Surprise" the car.

Re: new upgrade

oh yeh thats not to bad after im finished with mine im only hoping for around 12okw's but of that takes time and money haha. so whenever i put together some more i will start playing around. probably start on the exhaust system then get a pod filter i reckon that would be ideal way to get things going.
