New to the liberty scene

  Top of Page

Hey guys,

Currently i'm on the darkside and drive a S3 RX7 with a 12a bridgeport, here's a picture just for the sake of it:
http://miller.eddav.dyndns.org/gallery/albums/album09/IMG_1164.sized.jpg

I live in Adelaide up the hills, so I wouldn't mind a AWD car for a bit of fun wink

But i'm looking to sell that soon and purchase a Gen1 GX Subaru Liberty Wagon. I just wanna go back to a car that has room in it, and plus I love the subby sound haha. So yeh, although I don't have a subaru (yet), I thought i'd say hi and take this oppurtunity to ask  some questions as well! So here I go:

1) How strong are the subaru engines? Will it matter if the libery has 200,000~ k's on it?
2) Do the GX have a bit of guts non turbo? I've read up on them, and they have 100kw stock yeh? How are they up around hills areas?
3) Stupid question, but they'll make the typical subaru sound with an exhaust yeah? I'm not looking to get a really loud note (sick of loud cars), I just want something subtle but noticable.

Thanks guys  :yahoo:,
Tom

welcome :hi:

subaru engines looked after, can get into the 300,000's km

but the GX won't be throwing u back in your seat, its enough power to get around.

what about looking at geting a RS? big_smile

Hey matRX,

So the ideal range (km wise) for a liberty engine would be able 150,000 or less...

I know it won't be throwing me back into my seat, that's not really the point of why I want it haha, i'm more interested in having a daily driver at the moment. I really just want to do the exterior and interior up, i'm sick of playing with engines tongue Do you know what kind of stock quarter mile time they do (just out of interest).

I would love an RS but unfortunately that will have to be my next car, I'm a uni student at the moment so i'm only earning about $200-300 a week.

Welcome mate, Going from a RX7 to a Gen 1 Lib will be a huge change!! gen 1 lib is a great car but within a month you will be looking for more power. keep ya RX7 for a bit longer and save up for a RS!! just me 2 cents

Haha, I don't think it will be a huge change mate, my bridgie only runs about 100kw and has no torque down low (all top end power), I'm not running a turbo rx7 or anything.. so I don't mind stepping down a little... (there's always toyota superchargers for those extra ponies  :girl_were )

iOrion - they're good cars, just rotary engines are a pain in the ass tongue

Cheers for the welcome guys!
