New member - gen1 wagon

  Top of Page

Hi

I just bought a 92 gen1 2wd liberty lx wagon in great condition as a daily driver/work vehicle. It has 170,000kms but has been very well looked after and serviced. Interior is perfect, and there is next to no dents, couple of scratches with paint being pretty good for car that age. Runs very well!

Im a sales manager so spend a lot of time on the road, but also will use it for my normal transport on the weekend as i use it to transport my bike (downhill mountain bike).

Ive previously drove a 07 2.5 liberty wagon which was a company car, and thought it was a brilliant car.

I dont have alot of knowledge about these cars, coming from a background of ford cosworths and escorts im not too sure where to look in parts and accesories and what can be done (conversions) for subaru liberties.

What id like to do is below, but I am a bit stuck as to where i could possibly source these kinds of parts. Ive had a quick look on ebay etc but there are some things which seem to be hard to get.

Any help would great as to where to get these parts!!! (cheap as possible)

- 16" or 17" later model wrx wheels with decent tyres
- change front + rear sway bars/bushes
- slightly lowered & stiffened springs to suit new wheels (to sit right)
- new shocks
- rs sideskirts, rear skirts and front lip
- dark tint windows
- in the near future complete respray

Cheers

Welcome.

Plenty of conversion info around with wrx cuts being the weapon of choice and a fairly straightforward process.

Don't bother going the route I did (most epic genI) just get the gear to do a conversion and bolt it all in... could be intersting with FWD...

Wont be doing any engine conversion. Dont think its worth it.
Just going to get it looking ok as a daily driver. As ill be using it as my car for work and when i go bike riding.

And also as my weekend duty's are either my new bmw 135i or the mk1 escort cosworth track car my father owns (which is in parts at the moment anyway).

*waits for the onslaught of suby fans to start the attack* haha

But im pretty wrapped in it. Good cheap reliable car that can carry my bike, and still look as good as the day they came out of the showroom!
