Hey, my 1993 Nissan Maxima has just conked out so now I'm in the market for something else.. I've managed to narrow it down to 2 cars, one being a 2nd gen Legacy (Liberty as you guys call em..) RS-B and the other a Mitsubishi GTO  but I've heard the Legacys are pretty unreliable and repairs are expensive... Is this true?

Also, are there many common problems with these things apart from the head gasket?

This is the Legacy I'm considering buying http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor … 438706.htm

Thanks.

I dont own a 2nd gen (have a 3rd gen) but I have to say that they are pretty bulletproof cars if you treat them right. Make sure the car has had regular oil changes and looks like its been treated nice. The one on trademe looks good, and having a recent rebuild is a plus.
