New GT owner....soon

  Top of Page

Hi Guys (girls)
Just thought I'd finally say a proper Hello as we have just ordered a diamond Grey Lib GT spec B Manual wagon:Derisive:

I'm already a pretty old hand with the Turbo Subies and I currently have a heavily modified 2.5L 04STI with GT35R and all the goodies
GT is staying 100% stock though

What is the delivery time for a colour like diamond grey I bet its months smile

Cheers

Mark

Thanks guys,
Yep as I said above this one is going to remain stock its actually going to be the wifes daily driver and have two baby seats fitted permanently, our second is due mid September( yes my life is basically over come September :suicide: LOL)
Luckily you can't reflash anything with opensource progs post 06 'yet' so I think this car is safe for at least a little while smile, plus I'm still in the process of tuning my own STI with its Autronic and have just fitted the rotated mount so I have  a heap on my plate. I do everything myself these days that way it gets done properly

Welcome to the forum, I have followed your build on Rexnet for ages. Beast.
You'll enjoy the Lib.
My Autronic is locked so I can't do much unfortunately, but i see you know your way around it.
Cheers

Glad someone looks at it smile. I try and get out the message that things aren't always the dark art that providers conveniently make them out to be. I had a realisation a while back that with my background I should be ashamed if I can't tune my own ECU - This of course applies to many others out there too. Luckily i have free dyno access and a few sources of good info to bounce questions off. I might take 10 times (make it 50 LOL) longer to tune a car properly but it will be a better tune than i will get anywhere. You will note that the proper tuners always say that you could spend days tuning a car properly and that our normal retunes are a bit of a compromise. I can now see that they are quite correct.
I just had my car unlocked which means you lose the whole cal file and you have to start from scratch. I then had a good sydney tuner help me with the base tune then we fixed it up from there. Still going though I have to get to a 4WD dyno to finish the rest of it off. The Autronic is really a very easy ecu to get the basics right and awesome once you start looking at the rest of the options

first thread and I'm already heading OT smile

Can't believe it, The car is ready to be picked up as soon as I hand over a bank cheque and the Rego is done. I was expecting a 2~3 month wait. I'll probably get it Monday. It was in customs yesterday I guess they just had a shipload arrive smile. Less than 1 week FTW

That's fantastic luck!!!!!!!!
You'll love how easy it is to live with.
Just quickly(and OT) did you have the wideband sensor installed and autotune working to get the base map? Millions of questions?

Yep wideband works quite well and I even checked if there was an offset on the weekend and its unmeasureable. The secret is to slow down the output of the LC1 to say 6 or even 3 samples a second otherwise the Autronic can't make sense of the fast transitons. Oh and of course the grounding is extremely important to get right
Be sure to put an electrolyltic cap across the supply to eliminate those nasty LC1 voltage spikes too
I could cross post that LC1 stuff here or rather in the tech sections if its of use

Anything is of use and appreciated in the tech section.
My problem is its tuned well (enough), and I don't have access to free dyno time, but I'd love to see the maps in there ATM, just to see how to improve on it.
