if stripped most of the panels of the car and removed the radiotor supports it seems the rail on the left hand side is bent out but the right hand side rail is staight but there might be more damage i wont be certain till i pull out the motor this w/e also the motor actually kicks over so looks like it wont need replacing:) would love a ej20t from a rexy tho smile

also if anyone can help me locate a half cut for a gen 3 liberty ill need it to complete the repairs

Sounds like it's going to be FULLY SIK MAAATE..  You going to get a SUBWOOFER MAATE?

Why the f*ck would you want a B4 bonnet on an NA car?  Is it because you're 17?

Blak_b4: give him a break.

At least he is fixing the car himself un-like most of the people on this forum!

Mate, good luck with your task.

You will be happy when you have finished it all.

I will send you a PM with a wreaker that has heaps of Gen 3 stuff, and I am sure will be able to help you out with parts.

Oh and welcome to Ozliberty

At least Mickey breaks the car himself. And he does it often, and well! Unlike most of the people on this forum!

Welcome n00b. Looks like you have bitten off more than you can chew. I hope you have access to a chassis aligner, and you like replacing half worn tyres frequently! B4 Bonnet on an NA? Whoa, sonny jim....that's original... maybe then you can roll with the big boys..

Hi mate,
welcome to the forums.  What year is your Gen3.  I hope the repair work goes well.

I'll be doing a conversion in a few weeks time and will have a leftover shell and NA parts.  Let me know what you want and I'll put it to oneside.

Cheers
Darryl

Well good on you for trying thats for sure. Wish my first car was a Liberty, even one I had to bend back in to shape...

Victorian P platers have power to weight restrictions don't you? In which case I'm guessing a rexy conversion would be out of the question surely.

its a 1999 model gen 3,
what parts would u have on offer?
ive heard these a few issues fitting 2001+ gen 3 parts on my 99 model gen 3 can someone please explain this to me?

also nah we dont have power to weight restrictions on P platers in victoria instead we have a ban on all turbo, supercharged and v8 powered cars on P platers so yeh iot makes me sad sad originally i wanted a wrx but then the new P plate laws came in and stuffed my plan up then i went to the auctions looking for a N/a imprezza but the liberty caught my eye and it just appealed to me smile n im glad i bought it...

anyways guys thanx for the welcome! smile

Bonnet, grille and headlights are different between RevA-C (pre MY02) and RevD (MY02 and after) so are not interchangeable.  If you want a turbo bonnet, you'll have to check your local import wreckers.

There was also a slight wiring change difference between the 2 groupings as well, so if you're thinking of doing a B4 conversion down the track, you'll need a preMY02 cut or you'll run into all sorts of wiring problems, just like Dal-118 and another SA bloke are having at the moment.

Another option is to go single from the outset, in which case I'd read Al (JKS-25 or similar) threads  on here and RSLC (RSLibertyClub.org) as Al splices the WRX engine loom into the Lib body loom and get's it all working; if fyou ever see how this goes together, you'll realise why people pay Al to do it for them; read an absolute nightmare.

Anyway welcome again and I think I speak for us all in saying we want progress pics of the repair work.

Any other questions, search and if that fails don't be affraid to sing out.

Cheers
Darryl

Are you scrapping everything back to the fire wall minus the rails (obviously)?
Or are the inner guards non replaceable?

If the later is the case, have fun with the hammer and dolly big_smile, i dont envy you at all big_smile

If you replacing the rad support, maybe a RevD support might fit?

Allowing you to use the face lifted head lights and bumper, which IMO looks much better.
Also, are there any plans for mods? I.e suspension.
