by b4bullet on 16-02-08 09:48 PM I was only just reading an article on this earlier. The base XR6T has the same power as the previous F6 so the new F6 is good for 300+kw. Interior is very nice aswell. |

by d_generate on 17-02-08 12:03 AM Looks OK to me, I like the big hump on the bonnet & the fact that it'll be worth $12,000 in 2yrs, you really can't beat them for value as a good second hand family car that does most things right. |

Mate, I did over a million K's in an EB taxi, replaced the head cos I cooked it at 850,000K's & the steering developed a leak at about 600,000K's, pretty much never let me down and never used a drop of oil, when I sold it it continued on as a taxi for another 2yrs. The things they do right are .............. transport 5 people in comfort, tow your boat or caravan with ease, cost SFA to run on gas & not too bad on country trips using petrol, handle surprisingly well for a family barge & are pretty reliable as far as a cheap 2nd hand car goes...........no they are not as good as a Subaru because we are all biased but you have to give credit where credit is due and they do outsell Subi sedans by about 20 to 1. |

you must be the lucky one coz every single one i work on and change the alternator and its at least one a day....either being a EA to BA they leak oil and are a mess.... Cruisn...well id rather pay for my subi parts when they go bust and that is very rare that constantly pay for a ford repair..... Ford problems leaking power steering hose on back of pump that stuffs the alternator..the oil leaks between the head and the block and then the fan forces it everywhere cooling problems a/c problems and the list goes on..... i can safly say that the most car i work on and that is on a regular basis is FORD, HOLDEN & MITSUBISHI HYANDAI...the least car we do repairs on is TOYOTA SUBARU MAZDA |

Re: New Ford Falcon |
|
|
by d_generate on 17-02-08 10:10 PM Easy fix, tell the owners to put a cap full of brake fluid in the power steering pump, should last for another 20 - 50k & cost them nothing but workshop's can't do that because it'll cost them money...........and this came from a workshop that worked exclusively on taxi's. You probably see more FORD, HOLDEN, MITSUBISHI & HYANDAI's because apart from Toyota they are a lot more common than Subi's & Mazda's and have crap resale values so tend to get treated in the same manner.
