Nearly Burning my house down due to my love of this site!

Ok so its a fantastic Saturday afternoon. Sun in the sky white fluffy clouds owwww you get my drift. Anyway I felt a tad peckish so I chuck another love of my an English muffin in the toaster with the jam and marg ready to go when the toaster pops up.

So I figured while I wait I may as well go on OzLib in my room. So there I am browsing away on OzLib for about 20mins - 30mins. The next minute I smelt smoke and relized I also remembered that our pov toaster doesnt pop up sometimes. So I jump up out of my seat our cat is s**ting herself and the house is full of smoke (MORE THAN EVER BEFOR). I go up to the toaster unplug it and the English muffin is now 2 half round (I cut it to go into toaste) black ash circles with red glowing edges (Literally). So I wasnt going to get them out with my hands so I picked up the toaster took it outside and tiped them on our brick paveing and steped on them. Then I was so fortunate I had to open all the doors and windows chuck on the fans and try get majority of the smoke out befor the folks get home (LOL I dont like my chances).

HOWEVER I was lucky enough that there was 1 more English muffin in the bag that I just ate about 10 minutes ago and it was AWSOME.

Thats my funny little story that happened today while I browsed Ozliberty.

AHAHAHHAHAHHAHHHAHA yeahhhhh I could of saved those muffins. We actually did and still do but we took the batteries out caus eit drives us mental. LOL

Yeah I try my best for team work lucky it didnt take out the fridge with the beer in it. big_smile

Yeah maybe i should convice Mum to buy another that isnt so sensitive our otherone goes off when we cook under the griller and say something slight burns and produces very minimal smoke. Anyway if you food shoping for the family thise week I recomend you guys buy English Muffins in the red pack YOU CANT GO WRONG unless if you do what I did. big_smile

English muffins rock! I get the 9 grain ones, or the regular tiptop ones. Cheese and tomato ftw. Or plain with a heap of margerine lol. :victory:

Just get a new toaster, smoke alarm won't save those muffins in time.

Thanks guys. Tiptop are good I think thats what I had.

Here is a slight update:
Ok so that night my sister slept at a friends house and she came home and told me today that she could smell smoke in here pillow at here friends place. LOL
Also every time I am out of the house for a while and walk in I can still smell the smoke slighty from it being soaked into the blinds. So Mum was going around the house with spray today trying to make it smell fresh.

Maybe its best we invest in both a new smoke detector and a new toaster. Because TRUE the smoke detector wouldnt save those English muffins.

But a new toaster that pops up would save them!

On the topic of toasters, we had a really good one that had all these cool settings on it, like crumpets, muffins etc, and i loved it because when i had crumpets it would cook one side more than the other which is what you want when you eat crumpets.
Now that toaster is dead, and i cant ever have the crumpets the way i like them.
