by rxliberty2000 on 29-04-07 11:00 AM I am pretty sure in Vic, as long at the engine was in the same model car as yours, IE, if it was in another Gen 2, then you just need to change the engine number at Vic roads. |

:-) Same as the RS anyway I believe, just was strapped in to a different chassis. I don't believe any problems are encountered when people drop Jap spec EJ20t's in to their Libs, so I don't see why mine should be so different. |

by tHe gUt on 29-04-07 11:29 AM main reason for enginner certificate is that our model didnt have an Aus delivered turbo |

by twinturbosubaru on 23-12-07 05:26 PM Put simply, a turbo increases the engine capacity according to the goons, increase the capacity more than 10% from memory and you need certs, this includes upgrading obvious stuff like brakes of course, so if you want to convert properly, you are best to use a half cut and transfer everything mechanical, I don't reckon you can go wrong then.

by djb on 03-01-08 06:16 AM Here in SA you have to submit an "Application to modify a vehicle". This has to be lodged with Regency. The form asks what type of engine you've got, what you'll be going with and what brakes you propose to put on it.

by castek on 09-02-08 12:16 PM i know the thread died a while ago, but has anyone come to a conclusion on whether a cert is needed, and if it is, what needs to be done?

by castek on 09-02-08 12:27 PM 50 bucks, thats awesome. i rekon it'd cost $700ish for the plate to be bolted here in Melbourne. |

Re: making your conversion legal... |

|
by scrim on 09-02-08 12:33 PM the reason it was so cheap was apparently because someone else had done the conversion before thus making a precedent, which means a whole heap of other stuff didn't have to be checked and it only taking 10 minutes. |

Re: making your conversion legal... |

by rxliberty2000 on 10-02-08 10:53 AM When I did my conversion, all I had to do was notify Vicroads of the engine change. When I went to vicroads I showed them the receipt of the new engine with engine number listed. And that's it.
