Lowering Early Model Libs.

  Top of Page

Hey all..

As some of you would know, I am  very new here and to the liberty scene.
I have bought a 1991 AWD liberty, in really good nic, and couldnt pass the deal.
I have today bought some new 17" rims..and am really happy with them.
I am looking at now lowering the car probably 1-2".
I really have no clue, what springs or anything to get, as i am completly new to the scene..
If someone could point me in the direction that would be great. Am going to try and keep the cost to as low as possible.
Also how much would I be looking at for the springs and whatever else needed?
Also brands? Can you pick-up second hand springs???
Thanks  heaps.

Im new to both too, and I intend on lowering mine too.
I think king springs would be the way, they make them for like every make and model.
Other than that I wouldnt know much else , I havnt looked into it that much.

Say no to king springs...
GC8 STi gear is direct bolt in and will give a lower ride, but maybe not as low as you'd like

here's a wagon running pedders sports-ryders and 2002 STi shocks
stock STi springs will sit a little higher than this, but only by 5-10mm

H&R Maybe? a bit pricey but heard they are extremely good

How's the shocks on yours? koni yellow are a good combo (shock and springs)

ps. these are what I heard about them, I personally haven't used them myself
however I have used King Spring compare to STi ones and stock and would say that they are stiffer and not much comfy

king springs don't make rear lowered coils for gen. 1 liberty's anyway. well not for wagons at least.
Lovel's would be better.
I have king springs and they be a bit too hard for my liking and they are only standard height heavy duty.

Correcto.
Marty's car.
Now all the good bits from that one reside in his new, Grey RS wagon

Digging this thread up for my own evil plans guys.

Anyone tried the GC Coilovers yet and found if they work? I have a 2WD Gen1-S2 Sedan (giggle all you want, it's a daily) and would love to know if a set of GC8 Coilovers will bolt straight in.. The King Springs I have fitted to the Libby shockies are making me feel like I'm sitting on top of an old washing machine, and I'm getting pretty over it (I drive down several dirt roads to get to work every morning, kings + corrigated roads is very painful!!)..

I have a set of GC WRX Tiens available to me if I want to buy them.. just want to know if they'll fit before laying the cash down..
